    Re: Stress

I work well under stress. I think clearly, logically, and unemotionally (for the most part). I definitely do not freeze and flight would be a last resort. I'm generally the one who steps forward and starts giving orders to those that are frozen or trying to flee.

Given, of course, that I'm in a situation wherein I *Know* what to do, that is. If I am out of my element, so to speak, I would at least attempt to do something, or defer to someone who knew more than I did and still attempt to do something. Only that something would be what THEY recommended. LOL

Keep doing what I'm doing until it goes away. If one of my many projects doesn't make me forget, I move to the next.

Those are animal reactions. Humans are more like this.

I fight like mad when I'm stressed. I don't like things messing up my peace.

To inflict bodily harm on someone.

I control that impulse, of course.

But it is bad to startle me, especially if I am asleep or semi-conscious. The anesthesiologist who put me under for my emergency appendectomy a few months ago found that out the hard way.

I work out my aggressions by beating the holy handbasket out of a heavy bag or sparring dummy as soon as possible. I can handle a lot more stress than when I was a young man before blowing and doing something stupid, but there's still an upper limit.
