I say 21 because I'd be worried 18 year olds still in high school would buy it for their younger friends. 19 or 20 if you're in the army.

Other: I would place no age limit on drinking. Ideally people would learn to drink responsibly before they are old enough to drive, and that is more likely to happen in the context of family dinners than college or high school parties. One caveat would be that dependent minors would still be subject to the rules of their households. Another caveat is that businesses can do what they want in terms of who they will serve alcohol.

There's no shortage of older siblings and homeless people for them to utilize. It's really not that difficult for a minor to get alcohol.

The legal drinking age should be 18. It makes no sense for it to be 21.

Any age as long as it is blessed by a priest.

I am in college and I see first hand the irresponsible drinking habits that go on. I am not against 18 year olds drinking in a responsible environment, but more against them buying alcohol. At least at my school, some who can buy alcohol do buy it for their underage friends... and the majority of those who drink underage at my school drink in an irresponsible manner. I can only assume that making the legal buying age 18 will allow greater access to alcohol for those under 18.... more so than exists now.

Unless they're with their family, I'm strongly against those under 18 drinking. They have more important things to do at that point in their lives (i.e. play sports, join clubs, find a hobby, study, do well in high school and then get into college or get a good job).

Personally I think you should be able to consume alcohol at any age if with family, be allowed to drink alcohol without family after 18 (but not buy), and be able to buy alcohol at 20 or 21. Almost like having an adult in the car when you have a drivers permit.

I think it should remain at 21. Personally I think 18 year olds are far to immature to be drinking. I also think they should raise the driving age.

Around 18ish. I'd leave it completely up to the States.

Re: What should the legal drinking age be?

Supervised: Probably around 10, but ideally to be used sparingly for special occasions.
Unsupervised: Probably between 18 and 21

I think the age is less important than the stigma surrounding alcohol. If drinking is "bad" than people will flock to it because they want to rebel. If you allow small amounts at a younger age and a sip or two of wine is normal, than people would be less likely to abuse it.
