I would not mind that a bit. A country boy can survive.

I would rather have higher prices than have these disasters every couple of years.

However, we should find ways to make it safer. Once it is as safe as drilling on land, then I'm on board (and some times even that is not safe).

    Every couple years?
When was the last "one of these disasters"?

Texas city comes to mind. Have you ever been there. At night it looks and smells like hell on earth.

    Re: Off shore drilling

In order to have prevented all those oil spills, by not shipping it over water, by not drilling in or near water, we would be paying 3000+ dollars a barrel for oil. What do you propose to do about the massive worldwide economic meltdown that would occur should we decide to follow your policy proposal of higher energy prices and preventing all oil spills?

Look at the Manhattan Project. We could do it but the oil barons would lobby it to death.

Now that corporations are people they can do as they like and call it freedom.

    Re: Off shore drilling

I think this poll is bias as it states supporting off shore drilling means that you want to trash the Gulf Coast. I'm all for off shore drilling, but the proper precautions must be met. As it seems, the BP spill may very well be due to those regulations not being met.

    You obviously missed my sarcasm.

No I do not really prefer massively high prices, I was trying to emphasize how we need more safety, but it failed on you. I apologize dearly a million times over.

It almost sounds like your saying that we must have oil spills.
