2010 Philadelphia Phillies Fan Tasered (VIDEO)

Phillies Fan Tasered During Baseball Game

Last night, one Philadelphia Phillies fan’s night went from real exciting to real painful in only a couple seconds.

The Phillies fan, a 17 year old boy, jumped over the wall onto the field during a baseball game, and proceeded to run around the outfield. He was being chased by staff, players, and police. When he refused to stop, however, a police officer shot the Phillies fan with his taser.

This event has caused mixed emotions among fans and onlookers. Many people maintain that the fan should not have been on the field, and should have stopped for police, and therefor deserved to be tasered. Meanwhile, others say that he was only 17, and was completely surrounded, and that using a taser was uncalled for and too aggressive.

The police officer that tasered the Phillies fan is currently being investigated to determine whether or not he used excessive force.

The unnamed 17 year old Phillies fan will face charges for the incident.

You can see the Phillies fan get tasered here:

I think tasers are used much too quickly, usually by cops/security guys who are 30 lbs over weight. However, that kid deserved a good old fashioned ass whupping! His dad too! I understand he was sitting with his father actually discussing whether he should do this or not. So, who is more irresponsible, the kid or the dad, for not stopping him?

I saw this earlier, and I saw nothing wrong with the way it was handled. Kid did not stop, so they stopped him.

I hope the kid pissed himself. :rofl

Other.

All Phillies fans should be Tasered multiple times throughout the game, via taser systems built into their seats.

You know, I go to a lot of shows. And, most of us who do have a pretty good understanding what the bouncers are going to do to you if you get on stage with the band. I have to believe that baseball games are somewhat similar.

What did this kid think would happen? Dumbass. I know at least one guy who tasered himself. He didn't suffer any ill effects. The kid will get over it.

Let's look at the facts:

1. Kid is running around in a CLOSED field.
2. Six guys are chasing him.
3. The human body tires after strenuous activity.

Unnecessary.

That guys been waiting three years to use that taser and finally goes "Oh snap I finally get to use this thing!"

I have no faith nor trust in our news "service".
I was not there, I do not know the severity of these devices..
At least the cops did not shoot him or brutally attack this "poor soul".:spin:

Honestly Philly fans suck in general. I wouldn't against them all getting a good taser every once and a while. I mean hell look what they did when the Phillies won the World Series.

But if you don't trust the news, how do you know if he was shot or not?

Morganna, the infamous kissing bandit of the 70's sure never got tased.

It's probably a good thing, too, because depending on how she fell, the poor thing might have suffocated.

First, I fully support the tasing of any Philly Sports fan....especially those damn dirty Eagle's fans.

Second, I have no problem with the Tasing here. The kid got onto the field, immedietely causing an incident and a security problem, he then evaded security thus is resisting. He stupidly runs into a play and causes any type of injury and the backlash on the security and the money lost would be huge. He's causing everyone in the crowd to have to wait to watch the game they paid their money for. I don't care that he's a "good kid", that "good kid" should've never jumped onto the field. He knowingly broke the rules, he knowingly avoiding being caught, so he got brought down.

Third, sadly, I think it may be a bad PR move just because our country has became pussified and because there is 60 freak deaths due to tasers (in contrast I believe its something like 25 deaths per year due to large TV's falling on infants) people will make a big fuss out of these guys doing their job.

I see nothing wrong with tasering him. He was being a douche on purpose running wild like an animal purely to piss everyone off and make an ass out of himself on television.

They didn't use lethal force - they used accepted non-lethal force and it did the job of stopping him and now he can stomp his feet and whine like a child and try to sue if he likes.

The human body that tired was that cop's fat body.

You would be stupid not to taser a Phillies fan.

I'm in this camp. Philadelphia has the worst fans in all sports. Tazer them, throw them in a shark tank, sacrifice them to dark forces, whatever it takes to rid the world of the evil which is the Phillies fan.

Nope. I think the police move to tazer well too quickly. This case maybe it's justifiable. I think an old fashioned tackle would have worked just as well. But cops tazer people all the time for whatever reason they want. They think that because it's less than lethal it's fine for common use. Sure, it's nice to give them something other than a gun so they weren't shooting us all the time. But they weren't so caviler with the gun as they are with the tazer. Instead of giving them more tools to inflict pain and obedience in us, perhaps we should be looking to find ways to install restraint into them.

Good move. They do not know how how he would reacted when they tried to subdue him.Obviously they had to chase him down so he would have resisted and possibly had a altercation with those trying to apprehend him.

d00ds a Philadelphia sports fan, he'd probably try to eat him or at least stab him....
