I'm in this camp. Philadelphia has the worst fans in all sports. Tazer them, throw them in a shark tank, sacrifice them to dark forces, whatever it takes to rid the world of the evil which is the Phillies fan.

Nope. I think the police move to tazer well too quickly. This case maybe it's justifiable. I think an old fashioned tackle would have worked just as well. But cops tazer people all the time for whatever reason they want. They think that because it's less than lethal it's fine for common use. Sure, it's nice to give them something other than a gun so they weren't shooting us all the time. But they weren't so caviler with the gun as they are with the tazer. Instead of giving them more tools to inflict pain and obedience in us, perhaps we should be looking to find ways to install restraint into them.

Good move. They do not know how how he would reacted when they tried to subdue him.Obviously they had to chase him down so he would have resisted and possibly had a altercation with those trying to apprehend him.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Let's say no one had a taser gun. Would the 6 men have been successful in eventually stopping this idiotic kid? I think so. So I cannot help but conclude that it was excessive.
No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

Tasering should be used when other options aren't feasible. There is no reason they couldn't have just tackled the guy and pinned him. There is a non-zero risk of death and thus pure laziness is not a good enough motive for using them.

Its frustrating, these events have been occurring for my entire life; its bad enough that so-called fans run unto the field of play, for 5 minutes of fame and 5 years of shame..., but now we have "over-reactors incorporated", our police using excessive force. They may never learn...
I only trust our news to be sensationalism based, of little value to society regulars but only to the fringes.
If I did not know if the fan were shot or not, what difference would it make?

I do not think our police are lazy; I do think that they are over-driven to succeed.
