Not sure, I stopped reading him when I was about 17.

    What you trying to imply?

Nothing. I just moved on to other authors. I think I start getting into Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind (another libertarian author) at that point.

Lately, I've been getting into Neil Gaiman. His book American Gods is just awesome.

    I'm super picky about reading.
I mostly prefer philosophical works and nonfiction.

A fiction book has to well detailed and entertaining for me to read it.
I think the last fiction book I read and liked was a random Magic the Gathering book I found at the dollar store.
That was about 8 years ago.

You just sound like a baby right now. Talking about US society being "unfair", as if any society ever was truly "fair".

What about the ugly man who will never know the loving touch of a beautiful woman? How will you make life "fair" for him? Or the scrawny nerd who will never know what it's like to have an enjoyable social life? Fair?

Fair is just a stupid ass word. Life isn't fair and society isn't fair. The US rocks, though...

I tend to flip back and forth between a good story and social science books.

Among my favorites are the Belgariad trilogy, the illuminati trilogy, the anansi boys, american gods, the sword of truth series, and the wheel of time series.

I bought what was supposed to be a great Jefferson biography but it's boring me to tears.
I can't help myself to finish it.

Now I've read all of Marcus Aurelius' Meditations.
    A very good read.

Technical manuals can be fun to read too.
    Chemistry books and engineering theory.

Yea, as long as you don't have to get off your ass to actually do anything, everything is just peachy.

You transfer your moral obligation to the government and assuage your conscience by paying taxes and supporting Marxist redistribution of wealth.

Takes real courage to pay taxes and support government confiscation of wealth, doesn't it?

I tried to get into philosophy, but I am just not that into it. I have yet to find a philosophy that I cannot poke holes in, and its usually pretty easy to do. It makes me doubt how much truth can be obtained from that approach.

I personally think that philosophy was man's attempt at science before we figured out how to do it right.
