Other:

1) I am tired of people not knowing what racism even is; and

2) I am tired of people pretending that our society has moved past it.
Obviously, we haven't moved completely past it.

However, I think it is far less prevalent than in the past.

It Firstly, there seems to be this push on the right that seems to essentially claim that racism is only coming from the black community nowdays,

I personally think it is coming from the politician community, and if they would get off the race-baiting crap, things would be better.

I'm very sick of hearing about racism. That makes me all the more convinced that the elimination of its existence is imperative.

You can't eliminate its existence. That is utterly impossible. There will always be people who don't like various groups for whatever reasons, be it race, religion, culture, or even something as seemingly benign as not liking stupid people. People, by their very nature, notice differences and identify with those that are similar. Racism cannot be eliminated any more than any other distinguishing trait.
That being said, laws can be made to uphold equal opportunity and treatment under the law. That's about as close to eradicating racism as we can come to until all races are blended into one.

I'm not sure why a poll that's obviously intended as sarcasm or a joke isn't in the Basement, the Partisan section, or the conspiracy section.

This forum has really gone downhill if this is what passes for legitimate political discourse these days.

I don't intend it to be sarcasm or a joke ;)

Clearly you do, given the poll options:

1. I am sick and tired of hearing about racism!
2. I think the race card should be played more often!
3. I am offended that you're offended that someone was offended about racism
4. Moar Racist lulz plz!

This does not belong in this section.
Since mods are participating they obviously don't care.
But I still think it points to the progressive degeneration of our forum. It is no longer the legitimate political debate forum it was years ago.
A slightly younger 1069 once learned a lot here.
I not only do not feel like I learn anything here anymore, but I don't think that this current incarnation of DebatePolitics would've had anything to teach even that younger and more clueless version of me.
I doubt it has anything to teach anyone, not even the high schoolers who now populate it.

I mean it to be serious with a sense of humor to it. It seems to have sparked real discussion as well. And I'm sorry you feel that way about the current state of DP. Frankly I'm tired of seeing all the race threads (hence the creation of this poll).

Hmm if everyone else is fine with the ways things are, perhaps its you who is the issue.

I laugh sir, I laugh at you. :rofl

This really makes no sense to me. Essentially, you say you're tired of all the race threads, so you make yet another race thread?

It's all silly because there is only one race, the human one.

Who here is tired of hearing about racism?

Good think you aren't hearing about it from this forum. Now reading about it ...

How about about a "I'm tired of hearing racists pretend that having a conversation involving race, is equivalent to being a racist," option.

Doesn't anyone around here understand what constitutes a push poll?

Especially one as blatant as this?

:thumbdown

I agree. Most of these left wingers are far more racist than the righties they accuse of racism. :ssst:

I think people from all political ideologies can be tired of the race card being played constantly. Who's tired of Democrats calling every Republican policy racist? Who is tired of hearing that all Tea Party protesters are racist bigots? Who is tired of hearing Jesse Jackson spread his filth? Who is tired of the race card being played in the legal system? Who is tired of racism always being placed before us? Who here is just tired of racism in general? Democrat, Republican, Liberal or Conservative, who is tired of racism being so prevalent in politics and criticisms?

Sometimes, race plays a legitimate role in issues. Stating that is still necessary. I doubt that race will ever cease to be an issue because humans are primates, and thus, tribal by nature.

This post, and the context of this poll is racist.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were an undercover troll from the White Pride gang trying to discredit legitimate criticisms of the racist undertone that exists in some of anti-Obama people.

Not all, but some.

I'm tired of racists and bigots trying to characterize legitimate questions about some the the Tea Party's motives as the "race card".

It's not a card. It's called reading between the lines--listening to and looking the context and tone of anti-Obama statements. There is nothing 'socialist' about Obama or any of his policies, so what do they mean when they say that? "Take back our country". From who? No one has taken your country. There was an election. There will be another one in 2012.

Chicken little politics screeching "Racism" at any and everything you can...

How is it racist?

Digsbe? Seriously? Stop it, your embarrassing yourself.

It's called being don quixote and chasing windmills, though in your case its not that innocent, its a smear tactic mouth foamers use to attack those who do not support the policies of this president. It's childish, shameful, and low class....

I mean really, if some of you who have called me a racist, knew me, you surely would feel as foolish as you all look.
