Re: Who here is tired of hearing about racism?

I'm much more tired of people complaining about hearing about racism than I am complaints about racism.

I'm sick of white people and Christians playing victim and then pretending that they don't and that everyone else plays victim.

Granted, there are too many people of all stripes playing victim. But white folks, men, and Christians are just as good at it as anyone else - in fact, they seem to be getting better all the time.

I'm not sick of hearing about racism, I'm sick of hearing about race. And I don't give a damn about victimhood, either-- life isn't fair and if you spend all your time crying about it you deserve to rot in the compost heap of history.

This may be the only thing that I agree with a fascist about: people aren't created equally. People are just better than others at certain things. Are there trends across races? Of course, it's genetics. Are some races better overall than others? That's a bold claim and I think impossible to prove.

Btw, it is the fact that people are better than others at certain things which makes society valuable. It's why we may make fishing poles while the other guy gets the bait. Otherwise we would just split the responsibility or do it ourselves.

Especially considering there's no such thing as a pureblooded member of any "race", and the classification of races is a social construct that varies from nation to nation, arbitrarily combining or dividing the various ethnic groups. I've said it before; racism is just nationalism for retards.

I'm sick and tired of people complaining about being called racist, if that counts, because it doesn't seem to be happening all that much.

Racism /discrimination can be extremely funny to those who understand the absurdity of it. I worked with a south african women for a while who had weird prejudices against dutchmen (and blacks, bosnians, and god knows what). We had a great time feeding her, basicly agreeing with everything she said, trying to prove her point by using dumbfounding arguments. We took fishing trips, a trip to the sewers, to the cities recycling centre, to prove her she was right saying that "dutch people stink".

Well, sure. But this is a country built on slavery and in which the strategies of both of the major political parties are based inherently on racism, with de facto segregated schools and neighborhoods, huge incarceration rates for Blacks and Latinos and economic white supremacy.

Race is the very prism through which people view politics, events, and the value of other people. I'm sure Alaskan folks are tired of hearing about snow. But it's everywhere you look. Racism is to such a huge extent the fabric of our lives. I believe, as Dr. King did, that most Americans are unconscious racists. Not because of any personal immorality on their part, but because of American history and because of an economic and political system that is still entirely dependent on it.

That is all to say, I'm not sick of hearing about racism so much as I am sick of racism.

Yeah, and the races on the receiving end of it are likely even more sick and tired of it.

Are you implying that I, a white man, am not on the receiving end of racism?
"I condemn the ideology of White Supremacy and Nazism. They are thugs, criminals, and repugnant, and are against what I believe to be "The American Way" "
Thus my obligatory condemnation of White supremacy will now be in every post, lest I be accused of supporting it because I didn't mention it specifically every time I post.
