The last time I voted we had Hayes(Libertarian), Ray McBerry (cessationist Republican) and Purdue.

I was torn between McBerry and Hayes but ended up voting for McBerry.
After that I figured out that voting was pointless because most people will vote for Purdue(and other Party supported candidates) no matter what and that extends towards Federal voting as well.

I have better things to do with my time, to tell you the truth.
It causes me to much anxiety.

It would be a total win, in my opinion.

    Why or why not?
I voted other, yes only if Puerto Rico adopts english as its official language.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

They have a pretty sweet deal, so I don't know why they would vote to become a state.
They would lose some very nice bennies because of it.

They don't pay federal income taxes.
They do pay SS and Medicare taxes.
The median income in PR is so low that most of them wouldn't pay federal taxes anyway. They'd just be getting representation.

As someone who has family there, most like the current status as being a commonwealth.

Its actually a law down there that in order to work you must speak both English and Spanish.

senate representation has nothing to do with population. There's a reason for that.

So you support "Downsize California Now"? They want a ballot initiative for a two-state solution. According to their plans, 13 counties on the coast, ranging from Los Angeles to Marin, just north of San Francisco, would be split off and be named Coastal California, West California or whatever they please.
