Here is my thing I question the validity of this poll first off especially because of the response from several of the conservatives here. I have not voted on the poll. I think if you look at scientific polling though the average American not only doesn't trust Obama they dont trust the GOP just as much. There is a huge distrust in politicans from all sides and Americans from all walks of life seem to want the same thing; they want to sacrifice nothing and think the government should just be this magical machine that solves all of our problems in a few months. While I do believe our leaders are all a bunch of asses and need to get their **** together we all need to look at what JFK said and take that to heart as well.
"We’re going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan

Re: Ron Paul vs Barack Obama

Not to mention, as shown in 2008, Paul does exceptionally better in online polls than he does in something like a telephone poll or at the ballet box. Pauls largest and most devoted supporters generally fall within that 20-30 range that are far more technologically savy and active than those older, and his older supporters generally seem more tech knowledgable than others in their age. Paul's "netroots" campaign in 2008 was outstanding and one that I think would behoove other candidates to study for the future and the way in which you can potentially leverage social media and the tools of the internet. However, the issue was that it didn't translate exceedingly well to the real world.

My position on this is as it was almost a year ago. I'd vote for Paul in this, hands down. However I would not want to see a situation come up where its Paul vs Obama because I'd say with near certainty that I'd believe Obama would win that race. The ONLY reason I'd want to see it is if the Republicans were pretty sure no one was going to win and it was used simply as a means of shifting the focus of the Republican Party more in line with what Paul stands for. Unfortunantly, in reality, I think it would do nothing but be used as a way for establishment Republicans to go "See, see! That kind of conservatism isn't viable. We need to focus on social wedge issues and/or completely moderate view points".

I'd like to see Paul and Obama debate.
    It would be a massacre.

    Yeah, Paul would get spanked.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet the Makeout Hobo, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

I'd vote Obama, simply because he is democrat. But if Obama wasn't running, I'd defiantly vote for Ron Paul.

Paul argues using factual information, while Obama uses emotive pleasantries.
He spanked McCain, Rudy and Hannity.
Obama would be a cake walk.
