So then redheads (for example) who organize and start executing media and hollywood types for making jokes about their hair color should also get censored because continued jokes only encourages them.

What purpose then does it serve to be non-violent when violence or the threat of violence gets results? Hell with the calls for the TP members to be calm and civil --- start threatening to blow up buildings or execute people and get results. We're sending the wrong message here guys....
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. CC should do whatever they think is in the best interests of their business. I'd say it's easier to deal with a controversy over some bleeps rather than a worldwide jihad. CC's job is not to stand up for freedom and all that, it's to make money selling funny stuff.

The creators have no right to someone else's network. If they want to show Muhammad or whatever, they can do it on their own.

Yes, murderous Muslims suck, but CC isn't obligated to start a war with them just to make a couple of cartoonists happy.

    Q1- Yes, Q2- No.

South Park makes fun of everyone. They make fun of all kinds of religious figures and religions. Heck, the first episode was about a battle between Jesus and Frosty the Snowman. As a Christian it makes me uncomfortable when they make fun of Jesus, but I don't take it personally and it doesn't offend me. Part of being a mature adult is understanding humor and being able to laugh it off. I like South Park, I think it's hilarious. Shame on Comedy Central for censoring Muhammad and removing almost a minute of dialogue. If Muslim extremists are going to have the maturity level of a deranged twelve year old than that's their problem. Why should I as the viewer have to endure the censorship and watch a ruined episode? Seriously, they shouldn't even be listening to these morons, why cater to them as well? One reason many people love South Park is that they make fun of literally everyone, and we all laugh it off even when the ones they make jokes about are a group of people that we fit into.

I think CC should come under fire for having censored the damned episode.

That's kinda unfair, seeing that the only reason for the censoring of the episode was them not wishing to come under fire.

South Park itself is a stupid show. So is this whole Mohammed spat. I get easily annoyed with such childish things get coverage as if they're highly important.

What's more foolish, though - someone getting worked up over South Park. Or South Park actually being censored over the worked up person's reaction.

I see no reason why CC had to censor because of a minority of nuts. Besides, Islam shouldn't be given special treatment. Many offensive cartoons has been done on Jesus and I don't see Christians going crazy.
If I deemed it offensive, I wouldn't have watched it.

The more this happens, the more encouragement is given to the extremists that their views have an impact.

I should make it clear I haven't seen this episode, has not aired in UK yet

Hehe, perhaps. But seriously, we can't start caving in every time a bunch of assholes threatens us over something. There's no shortage of assholes or threats. Comedy Central should have done what Comedy Central always does and just play the damned South Park episode. It's the Scientology episode all over again. ****ing religious nutbags.
