Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck may be a tad (ok, maybe a lot) crazy at times, but his message isn't completely false. He does expose a lot of truth to the White House and offers his (exaggerated) opinion on the Obama administration and their "socialist" goals. I am not a regular viewer of his show or radio program, but I'd rather have him speak against the president and make crazy opinions that someone who crazily supports Obama. As far as things go, Glenn Beck's lies and craziness isn't costing me my tax dollars ;) He also doesn't set the policies that grow my government, restrict my freedom, and damage my country. Glenn Beck is a voice with no legislative power. Barack Obama is a crazy ideologue who does have the power and does act upon extreme lies and crazy opinions.

I remember catching Beck on CNN HLN a few years back. I watched his interview with Ron Paul during the campaign, which nobody was doing. His interview with Ron Paul was very fair I thought(and Ron Paul thought so too). Now I am not, nor have I ever been a Paul fan, but I was interested to hear what he had to say, rather than some of his rabid supporters clogging up the internetz and Glen Beck gave him the only platform in the media to do that.

I haven't seen him since his move to Fox, but by a few people's opinions that I trust here(not the crazies that hate anything with "Fox" in the title), he's changed since moving networks. And not for the better.

ORLY?

Actually, if you really investigate a lot of the information presented by Glenn Beck and his special friends, it is based upon lies and misinformation.

For instance, presenting a show on "Faith of Our Fathers," and using it as a platform to present a discredited "scholar" like David Barton who has actually fabricated quotes and then attributed them, falsely, to founding fathers.

Shows like that leave his viewers with a completely false impression, and in fact, DO undermine fundamental principles endorsed by our founding fathers and enshrined in our key documents.

The last thing the founding fathers wanted was a religious theocracy. They would have been utterly appalled by the very notion. But, Glenn Beck provides a platform for people who are trying to push the U.S. in that direction.

It's funny that someone brought up the NEA, because David Barton has actually been involved in attempting to change the information taught to high schoolers in their textbooks, based on the same misinformation and misguided religious principles that he puts in his books.

Bush was always more manly then Obama

Sure. If manly = sending other people's kids to die for your misguided ideas, and expecting other people to pay for the costs of that ill-fated and poorly executed war while your greedy corporate pals line their own pockets.

I am curious how Beck objectively hurts people. Obama is going to jack up the debt and impose massive tax hikes on those who create new jobs and will force many of them to engage in activities that are going to hurt the poor suckers who voted for Obama thinking that clown was going to "sock it to the rich"

I seriously think he's either become unhinged himself, or he's working hard to appeal to the people who are unhinged.

wow that is way out in moon bat land. Are you talking about a war based on the same information Clinton and his administration said was true? A war that most of the dems voted for? Remind me how many draftees were killed in that war (and my nephew has already done two tours over there, one in the Rangers, one in SF which means he's front lines etc)

Yep. If believes what he is saying, than he is pretty much insane.

I took several minutes to explain above. Please take the time to read what I wrote.

I found your explanation wanting and contrary to rational thought. The man is an entertainer. He has only the power you give him over you

Are you disputing the truth of what I said? My boyfriend spent a year in Tikrit on assignment for the Army and has said basically the same thing verbatim.

Of course, he's a planner who had to send guys out on assignments to get shot, and saw at firsthand how much of a cluster-**** the planning behind the scenes is at the higher levels. He's not a guy on the front lines, he's a guy who has to send those guys out to die on stupid assignments that make zero rational sense.

He has zero power over me. He has considerable power over a lot of weak-minded and not very bright rightwingnuts who like to engage in wishful thinking and aren't very good with hard things like facts.

You know, like the type of people who consider him a freedom-loving true American. ;)

It simply boggles my mind why someone would willingly watch someone like Beck. I watched him twice and that was all I needed.

the people he has the most power over are not right wing "nuts" (which can be anyone who doesn't drink the Obama bathwater and call it champaigne) but rather the weak minded and thin skinned barking loons of the left who run around like hens on a bad acid trip

How long was Glenn Beck on CNN and no one gave a hoot? Now, on Fox, he's a ratings monster... take a minute to think about it. Why is it?

Like hens on a bad acid trip?

Frankly, I find it amusing the effect that Beck has on libs (and even some conservatives). It's like watching someone throw holy water on vampires.

Apparently, those of us who frown on Beck's antics are indiscriminately labeled as leftist barking moonbats.

Interestingly enough, I think that Beck frequently uses that terminology himself.

Wait. Is that a clue?

People like Beck who profit by appealing to the lowest common denominator are truly a plague on this great country.

Who exactly is the "lowest common denominator"? Sounds bigoted to me.
