How much is your tax return? (or how much do you owe?)

I jump on our tax return ASAP - January 11th.
I've already spent all our tax return money (redoing the bathroom, took a trip to California, and the rest went toward's my dog's surgery).

Sigh. Both my husband and I max out on our retirement conributions (15K each) and have 0 exemptions and we always owe. This year, it was $4000.

You mean they will bribe congress in epic amounts of cash, right?

Somewhat. I don't think it will need that though. Once Republicans realize just how maddening a flat sales tax in forcing compliance will be and how much they will lose in votes from business, they'll kill it.

I know just how scummy some businesses can be in avoiding taxation. Going over entirely to a flat sales tax is just asking for even more of those problems, except on a nation wide scale.
