IMO, it takes a very smart up to date psychologist to determine this..
For me, I do not know. I suspect that I am not a lover of human beings, even if 80% are decent and kind....and these tea baggers

It refers to introverts as "highly sensitive", and says they make up one fifth of the population:

Just a few excerpts; it goes on to say that the highly sensitive had more brain activity answering a question, but took longer to answer.

The whole thing sounds as if it is personally describing me. I'm pretty much as introverted as someone could possibly be. I suspect that a political debate site would have more introverts than the general population, since it would attract deep thinkers.

So anyways: are you an introvert, extrovert, or somewhere in between?
Yin-yang theory can be used to explain this.

Yang is bright, fire, active, faster, hot, exterior, loud, light (as in weight), ascending and expanding.

Yin is dark, water, cold, slower, passive, interior, contracting, heavy, quiet, and descending.

We use yin-yang theory as a basic component of diagnosis in traditional chinese medicine, but it can also be applied to personality types. Yin people tend to be more introverted.

In terms of physical constitution, people of the yin aspect tend to suffer from illnesses related to excess yin in the body (laziness, over-rest, lethargy, depression, malnutrition, being underweight, etc.). They tend to be more pale, and have a body constitution that is thin and emaciated, therefore the disorders they tend to suffer from are deficiency related. They're the kind of people who eat constantly but never gain weight. Because of their low energy nature, they are sensitive to rapid changes in external environment or sources of stimulus that could be called yang (noise, bright light, intense emotions like anger, etc).

They tend to have cold extremities and a warm interior (face, chest, abdomen). Nutrition wise, yin people should avoid cold food that comes directly from the fridge, since their body constitution is already "cold", as it can bring about disorder. Hot food is best, especially if it's rich in protein.

Yang people are the opposite, essentially.

There are other constitution types besides yin and yang, I'm just giving a very basic example. The scientists have the right idea, but they aren't the first ones to think about it. The knowledge I post here comes from a text called the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic (Huangdi Neijing) which is dated at about 100 BC.

Yin type people tend to be slow and thorough, whereas yang people are fast and efficient. Think tortoise and the hare. I believe they fulfill different but important functions in the human social order.

I guess people are aware that the Myers Bigg test is based on Jung's personality types. What people may be less aware of is that Jung was also interested in Astrology and that they also are based on the elements in Astrology.

Look at the poll. Look at where a lot of us spend our time.

We are online, interacting in a virtual world.
Because this is virtual world, we must use intuition or sensation to understand the nuances of communication (hence the split between "N's" and "S's".
We are needing to think about responses as they do not happen instantaneously.
We discuss our positions on things, often in strong ways.

My guess is that we are here because of who we are. We are drawn to DP because of a consistent personality type. Now, that does not mean that those who do not fit into this "mold" are not drawn here. There are aspects of other personality types that can apply to DP and this form of communication, but if you look at the descriptors, DP attracts INTJ's and ISTJ's.

This will all be in my book.

This is true. I have a book called "Birth Sign Psychotherapy" which purports that it may be important to use different psychotherapuetic techniques with folks with different birth signs, based on those personality types and needs. Though not written by Jung, it was inspired by his work.
