:rofl It's funny cuz it's true!

For real though, they make the best pie. mmmm

And cookies, breads, etc. They are very good cooks:)

Chris Rock makes his living off making racist jokes. He is a really good example. Not.

Also it is telling how you call people of your own race "niggaz".. Says a lot about you.

Yea it says I know the difference between a black and a nigga. I also know the difference between a redneck and a white person.

So what does your statement say about you???

Bill Cosby was attacked because he seems to have fallen out of touch with his own culture. He is just another old geezer who does not "get" the younger generation.

Your ahem, white. What do you know about my culture I don't already know?

The fact that quotas existed for years. And top law and medical schools were given places to blacks with scores that no white gained admittance with., one poster noted that being black counted more at some Ivies than being a legacy. That is true (BTW in my college class legacies had higher averages overall then non legacies) Legacy admissions fund smart but lower middle class kids being able to go to uber-expensive places like Williams or Harvard. Selecting underqualified minorities benefits no one and causes alot of resentment
I don't know if you saw this where you went, but there were a ton of black students who washed out after their first year. What I'm trying to figure out is how it helps to give a minority student who doesn't have what it takes to make it to graduation tens of thousands of dollars in student loans and jack **** to show for it.

Of course the schools are all for this ...

As long as they get the Federal funds, they don't give a **** one way or the other.

true. and they would have been fine if they had gone to a school full of people in their same league. The ivies make it hard to flunk out-the saying at Yale was only the truly brilliant failed (I will name a few-NR Editor Richard Vigilante, Federalist founder Lee Liberman [she actually graduated summa because that was based on number of a's-she skipped three exams at got 3 F's and offered 36 A's for graduation)

but I saw lots of AA's struggle

Yeah, I've read about the ridiculous Ivy League grade inflation. I went to a school that had no issue with flunking a person out. They gave the old "look to your left and your right; one of those people won't graduate from here" speech at matriculation, and they sure as hell meant it.

Not to mention that they can say that they admitted X percent of blacks last year and that sort of thing.

I always thought that they should refund a student's money that flunks out after the first year. Schools know by now what sort of indicators will tell them which student will graduate and which won't. If you flunk out in the first year, you weren't meant to be there at all.

some of the colleges at cornell are like that. Yale is very paternalistic. When you are turning down 8-9 kids for every one that gets in you don't want to admit you screwed up by having a bunch flunk out

lots of kids bought tuition insurance

Calling it a night-take care

Total B.S. Most of those polygamy groups out in Utah are on welfare. I should have said Mormons not Amish. There is also a big underground of pedophila going on with a lot of them and some do not even try to hide it by marrying off their young women at very young ages. Not to mention the inbreeding factor.

Totally OT though.

I can only respond to what you say, not what you wish you had said. I'll agree with you about the problems with Mormonism, just like there are problems with lots of fringe religious groups. However, I still don't see them jumping up on soap-boxes and screaming that it's everyone else's fault they're having problems.

I do see your point. but I have found that if you just allow people to vent, with out objection, or ridicule, they often get it all out of their system, and chill out. the problem is, we often just add more wood to the fire. I feel people can get un-pissed, in the same shorts they got pissed in. I don't really care. I have problems of my own, that I try to ignore.

It only works if people are venting about rational things to begin with. When everyone is playing the victim and race cards, then acting in every bit as racist as the people they're pointing fingers at, it's not venting, it's ridiculous.

That's what a lot of the "black community" does, especially their supposed spokesmen.

Hmm, let's see here.

PhD
Best-selling author
Comedian who always performed clean
Self-made millionaire through legal means
Proponent of culpability and self-responsibility

Yup, I can see why he's ostracized by his own people. Black culture is the same culture that states when a black person speaks intelligently, eloquently, and with clear inflection he's "talking white".

For most white people I know, being called a "thug" or a "pimp" is derogatory. For most blacks I know, it's a moniker of respect.

Speaks volumes, huh.

AA is reverse racism. We'll achieve true equality when crap like AA vanishes. It should be a meritorious system and have nothing to do with race/gender/orientaton/et al.

I'm sure that when education, employment and social preferment become merit-based and discrimination on the basis of race/gender and orientation cease, so will AA. Until that day, far in the future, it will still have a role to play.

ROFL

AA prevents education and employment from being merit based, and AA *is* discrimination on the basis of race/gender. So, as long as AA exists, discrimination will exist, and fewer people will be employed/educated based on merit alone. AA not only IS mandated racism/sexism, it also fosters racism/sexism along with resentment.

I see. So before the first attempts at AA (how long ago was that? 20 years?) there was no discrimination? Black people, women and LGBT people always had the same access and opportunities that the good 'ol white, hetero boys had. It was AA caused all the trouble.

You saying discrimination doesn't exist? Or are you saying that it does exist but nothing should be done about it? I'm guessing the latter.

The knee's still hurting like a b****rd, BTW.

Any proof that education/employment/social preferment is still prevalent? The only time I hear of someone having an upper hand based on sex/race/orientation is when AA is pushing one of their less qualified candidates through.

If you've never lived here, you don't know what it's like. You have no voice on the matter.

If he has sufficient data, as he claims, he can debate this issue as well or better than you can. :naughty

As long as humans exist, discrimination will exist on the individual level. Discrimination based on everything imaginable. I've experienced sexism myself, most women have. Don't hear me whining to the government asking for special favors because there are a few ****wads out there though. We don't need the government's help.

Yeah, some idiots discriminate for any number of reasons. But employers should be free to hire whomever they wish for whatever reason they wish. That's their prerogative. The government should never force a company to BE sexist and/or racist the way they do with AA. It's absolutely insane to try and stop racism/sexism with racism and sexism. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

On top of how insane it is, it's ****ing insulting. I don't need a stepstool. I don't need training wheels. I don't need a govt mandated advantage over anyone else. The implication that because I have tits, I need help getting a job or an education is seriously insulting.
