I wouldn't mind getting lost in Glacier National Park.

I think it depends where you're from. For some nationalities it's more complicated than for others. Also, European immigrants get priority over everyone else. It also depends on your financial means. If you're rich, you can totally buy your way in. I think it's what bubba was talking about earlier.

If not, what you need to do is find an employer first that will then file all the paperwork for your work permit. You can apply for the equivalent to the "green card" after a couple of years or you can apply for citizenship after 5 to 10 years, again depending on where you're from.

Switzerland, probably, but it's almost impossible to attain citizenship there.

    Maybe Scotland or the Caribbean.

    I wouldn't flee. That's cowardly, IMO.

I figured that would be that case.

Most countries allow residency if you invest $50k-100k in their respective economy.
I think I'll be able to swing that eventually.

CHF is the hedge currency of the world, which is another bonus.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.
