Right, like I said, racism. What color are those welfare mothers presumed to be in the popular consciousness? Racism is amazing. It's how poor white people vote to cut their own welfare, break up their own unions and reduce their own wages--because it's presumed by them that because of white privilege those cuts will only happen to the bad (black and brown) people on welfare. Of course this isn't so, their racism hurts themselves. It's how West Virginia, the poorest, most welfare dependent state voted for Bush twice. So yeah. I believe that racism is the primary motive for poor white people who vote republican.

Re: Racism amoung the republican party?

Woodrow Wilson was a progressive democrat and he was a racist so I think we should be concerned with his party...seriously though. Racism is not something that belongs to either party only. Individual people are racist, and what party they support or not has nothing to do with whether or not the party itself and other members are racist. We can only label the INDIVIDUAL, not the collective.

I believe that racism is the primary motive for poor white people who vote republican.
You have to be utterly and completely close-minded and ignorant to fail to see the valid points made by conservatives. There is no point in debating you because of that statement. If you honestly cannot see why poor conservatives exist then you do not know true conservative ideals at all. Are all rich Democrats racist against white people then?

    Wow really?

Thus my obligatory condemnation of White supremacy will now be in every post, lest I be accused of supporting it because I didn't mention it specifically every time I post.

Some are just as some dems are. However, the GOP does not have institutionalized racism as part of its program as does the dems. The Dems are the party of affirmative action which is doublly racist. It is racist because it punishes white and Asian students who have no blame whatsoever for the alleged problems blacks suffer today due to what blacks clearly suffered 200 years ago. .
No one is personally responsible for the African-American condition, but as a nation we are collectively responsible because society's apparatus in its totality disadvantages African-Americans to the benefit of everybody else.

It is a huge distortion to say the problems the African-American community is confroting derive from events two-hundred years ago, as opposed to a couple decades ago to this present day.

If you notice something good in yourself, give credit to God, not to yourself, but be certain the evil you commit is always your own and yours to acknowledge.

believe what you want. If a poor white person is upset that his son was turned down at a school or for a job because of affirmative action and he votes against the party of institutionalized racism (aka affirmative action) I don't believe you can call his vote "racist"

if a poor white is tired of the democrats coddling criminals, disarming honest people and installing bleeding heart liberal judges and if many of those criminals in some areas tend to be minorities, a vote against that is hardly racist.

I realize for the intellectually sloppy and those who feel rather than think to want to label anyone who doesn't buy into the glorious wonders of welfare-socialism "racist" but that is a specious claim.
