Better yet to find the little dirt road that leads to a wooded area.

;)

And Billy-Bob the toothless git and his pet goat come walking up the road with a loaded shotgun and tell you to squeal like a pig.

Hehe, we've had some close calls but nothing like that.

Thank God.

Thank goodness! Well, I was just driving up a road one time exploring to find a new mountain bike trail and this freak appears in the road suddenly with his shotgun and starts making this really slow waving "get your trespassin self" out of here gesture. I had to make this akward three point turn on a narrow road while he is just standing there calmly staring with these hateful dead-like eyes. It was creepy. I stay off of random dirt roads now.

I don't remember my sex ed very well, can you get pregnant during oral sex? ;)
Ohhh, wiseguy, eh?!

Is this personal experience? Also, holding hands with a strange woman, interlacing you fingers and giving each other googly eyes will probably give your wife/girlfriend pain and anger as well, is hand holding sex then, by your definition?
The subject regarded oral sex. I later included handjobs when someone brought it up. No...hand holding and google eyes do not qualify. Qualifying points can have varying application.

It is a sex "act", not "sex".. A distinction is not necassary, a distinction just is. Sorry, that is how I, and most people that I know seems to view it, same as the definition that I just provided.
That is correct. A distinction IS. And if you look at your definition, you will notice it is a distinction.

It is a shame that you hold such a disrespectful view on the issue and about people's views on this site.
I know...I just go through life stomping on people's hearts and grinding them into the ground. I'm bad that way.

I really gotta work on that some day.

You have no idea. But my point is relevant anyway. You said that they are essentially the same, and then listed a couple of reasons why they are the same. Well, you can't get pregnant during oral sex, and that is a MAJOR distinction that you left out. It should not be left out, since it matters a whole hell of a lot.

Handjobs are just hand holding substituting one hand. What the hell is the difference. A person can get sexual pleasure from hand holding, or nipple grazing. Genitals are not mandatory.

You should. I felt so utterly humiliated.

"Honey, I SWEAR I did NOT have sex with your sister! We were only taking a shower together! I promise!"

It's not always me being unsatisfied. It's an even 50/50, I'd say. And those are just the quickies. ;)

You may as well stop trying to explain yourself. Most young people think their's and everyone's sex lives should be like a porn flick from now until the day they die at about 95 years of age.

Herpes is a confusing STD and that's why we have such a rampant spread of Herpes HSV 1 and 2.

Most of the people on this board have Herpes 1. Some may show symptoms and others may not. A symptom of Herpes 1 is a cold sore/fever blister on your lip. The cause of Herpes 1 is still unknown. Most people are born with it and others catch it from their partner.

When a male partner has Herpes 1(cold sore) it can easily be transmitted into Herpes 2 if oral sex is involved. If a male with a cold sore performs oral sex on his female partner then that will infect her with Herpes HSV 2 which is the one you don't want. tTere's no cure for Herpes 1 or 2 but it can be treated with medications.

If a male who was Herpes free has sex with his Herpes 2 infected female partner then he would most likely be infected with Herpes 2 himself.

If a female has Herpes 1 (cold sore) and performs oral sex on her male partner then he would most likely be infected with Herpes 2. When Herpes 1 contacts the male or females genitals it will then turn into Herpes 2.

Chances are you already have the Herpes virus in you but it's yet to show signs or symptoms(cold sores). As soon as a cold sore forms you should immediately take care of it with over the counter medications(lip balm). The lip balm will shorten the span of the cold sore. If you touch the cold sore you need to wash your hands often and thoroughly. If you rub your eyes it can infect your cornea which would involve a painful surgery, and you do not want that cold sore to spread to your eyes. The surgery is painful and it's a bitch to cure. If a cold sore should take place on the lips you must baby it and treat it until the infection disappears.

They have now linked Parkinson disease with the herpes virus.

The Herpes virus is rampant because most people are unaware they have it and are ill informed on how to treat it.

Bad news- Chances are you currently have it or are going to be infected with either Herpes 1 or 2 in your lifetime. You me and everyone on this board.

Good news- It's not a life threatening disease but it is an annoyance when it spreads to the genital area(Herpes HSV 2)

Btw: Condemns are useless in protecting the male from Herpes HSV 2. The Herpes will still infect the skin area around the condemn.

Okay so I have HSV1, was born with it. Got medication and the whole deal. You say I can spread it by kissing or transmit HSV2 through oral sex?

What if I show absolutely no symptoms? There are months of dormancy in between outbreaks. And believe me, I know when I have a cold sore - it's painful.

Lol, a condemn. Condoms don't always condemn you!

What?

oral sex still presents most of the same dynamics as intercourse; It is sex.

and now you qualify that with

If it doesn't get you in trouble, it isn't sex.

And

If your partner is not bothered by you giving someone else a bj or hj, it isn't sex.

Seems TOTALLY CONTRADICTORY!

So, oral sex is sex unless your partner is not bothered by oral sex, then it isn't sex? uh-wha-wha-what?

Flea, my friend...please, engage your sense of humor while participating in this thread.

Everyone,

What have we learned here? We've hopefully learned sex is subjective and it doesn't matter what any of us thinks regarding the matter of what constitutes "sex". Hence, the narcissism I spoke of. None of our opinions matter to how any one person views the wonderful world of oral sex.

No.
It's possible, but rare, to get HSV1 on your genitals.
You should avoid performing oral sex on others while having an active outbreak of HSV1.
You should also avoid touching your cold sore, then touching your genitals.
Always wash your hands after touching a cold sore, applying medicine to it, whatever.
Rarely, you could also spread it to your eyes, causing serious problems, so that's another good reason to wash your hands a lot while having an active cold sore outbreak.

But HSV1 is not going to turn into HSV2, or vice versa; they're two different strains.
It is possible to get HSV2 in your throat from performing oral sex on someone who has that strain of the virus. Possible, but rare, one would think; I've never personally heard of a case of it.

I actually had a monstrous cold sore outbreak right before my wedding party; I posted a picture of it here, in the Tavern, at the time.
I totally didn't want to go, but I didn't have a choice. My dad threw me a huge party, invited 200 people.
I was like, can I just wear a paper bag over my head? :doh

Well then you can't be so bad afterall if you trail ride/mt bike. Good going, man.

Boy! I'll take the rattle snakes and ticks we run into on our trails any day over those goofy weirdos you guys have in the east!!!

I might be funny, but at the same time logical. You contradicted yourself and at the same time devalued my input. Seems like senility might be catching up with you, old timer.

I live in Newport Beach in Orange County, CA. Is that east of you? Do you live in Japan?

Mountain biking here is great. Hiking and rock climbing too. :2razz:

You similarly devalue everybody else's input by stating categorically, "Oral sex is sex."

Apparently, some would disagree, and have said so on this thread.

Clearly, the matter is subjective.

I have been stating the esact opposite. Oral sex IS NOT sex. It is a sexual ACT.

It's sodomy. It's an "unnatural" sexual act, just like anal sex. The mouth was not designed for procreation. It's a sin before God. All mouth fornicators will burn in hell.

:rofl:rofl:rofl That's gonna be one crowded inferno!!!!

I have been stating the esact opposite. Oral sex IS NOT sex. It is a sexual ACT.

But some on this thread are claiming it is (albeit, rather rudely and dismissively).

There is no consensus. The end.

Categorically stating that it either is or is not sex is "devaluing the opinion" of someone on this thread.
If you don't mind doing that, fine. Be aware that you're doing it, though.
Accusing others of doing it is silly when you're doing it yourself.

I think it's interesting just to discuss the reasons why we think it is or isn't.
Categorical statements really aren't necessary, and don't particularly add anything to the discussion, in my opinion.
Perhaps some people think they sound tough. Who knows?

Let me ask this question. For those of you who do think oral is 'sex' what about a handjob?

Well, it's not conversation, it's not (usually) work, sport or art. If it's not sex, what do YOU think it is? General leisure?

Okay so I have HSV1, was born with it. Got medication and the whole deal. You say I can spread it by kissing or transmit HSV2 through oral sex?

You can spread HSV1 by kissing. By engaging in oral sex, you can give your partner HSV1 in the genital area.

What if I show absolutely no symptoms? There are months of dormancy in between outbreaks. And believe me, I know when I have a cold sore - it's painful.

You still shed the virus even in between outbreaks, and thus, are contagious, though transmission is less likely.

yeah, I understand that, thanks mom.

That is why I stated that it is my opinion that oral sex is not sex. People are free to think whatever they want. I think that the definition backs up my opinion, but feel free all ye adventurers, to think as independently and subjectively as you like.

I have been stating the esact opposite. Oral sex IS NOT sex. It is a sexual ACT.

Well, what is the practical, moral, ethical or philosophical distinction between 'sex' and 'sex acts'? What can it possibly matter making the distinction?

I will defer judgement to all you **** suckers out there.

I'm fine with either verdict. :rofl

The end result. Pregnancy.

One denotes the possiblity or communication that the female has a chance of pregnancy and the other denotes pleasuring the other partner with no chance of pregnancy.

I think a lot of young people just don't want to think of themselves as not being virgins anymore when all they've had is oral.
