We should not legalize hard drugs for any reason, and I'm not very motivated to do anything for Mexico, either.

What about the Mexican Cartel violence that is spilling into border states and cities? El Paso will be getting the worst of it.

Absolutely. What ever happened to the notion that one was guilty until proven innocent? Yet under these provisions, the government can seize your assets before you even have a trial.
One good thing. A few years back when the great war on drugs/people began they would take your truck if they found one pot seed.:(

They don't even have to have an indictment, let alone a conviction. Asset forfeiture is one of the worst attacks on the Bill of Rights in recent memory.

Mexico should do what Canada did during prohibition. Legalize the manufacture of drugs for export only. Canada made a killing selling booze to rumrunners. It would reduce crime in Mexico.

Wouldn't the gangs still be fighting over who gets to do the selling? That's what is happening now.

It would take the Federales out of the equation, but still leave the gangs themselves in a state of warfare.
