What do you think Rep. Randy Neugebauer actually said and should he be punished for his outburst?

Rep. Randy Neugebauer has come out and admitted he was the one who shouted out something about "baby killer" during Rep. Bart Stupack's speech on health care reform.

"A Republican Congressman has stepped forward and admitted to yelling 'baby killer' while Rep. Bart Stupak was addressing the House floor. But Texas Rep. Randy Neugebauer says he was referring to the health care bill and not to Rep. Stupack." (Article: Rep. Randy Neugebauer: I yelled 'baby killer' during Rep. Bart Stupak's speech)

neugebauer is a liar imo. he meant stupak, not the bill. of course, it's become the norm for behavior like this.

Another Repuke who can't stand not being in the majority anymore and doesn't care what he says or how he acts. He, like Joe Wilson, has no respect for the institution on Congress. Their tea baggers show that same disrespect for Congressmen because they take their cue from the Repukes they adore. Their antics last night were an embarrasment for their constituents.

They are one poor excuse for leaders of our country.

No vote, this poll is silly beyond belief.
Debate Politics needs a section for the children of all ages.

It appears that Congress also needs a section for its fools. This law-maker should resign!

Rep. Randy Neugebauer's comment is on the same level as Joe Wilson's "you lie" comment at Obama. I watched the floor during the vote for about an hour before they even voted and I couldn't believe the incivility of the people we elect to represent us. No respect from either side.

But this comment, whether directed at Stupak or the bill itself, is completely out of line... just like Joe Wilson's comment was out of line.

Wars are baby killers... but you wont hear a congressman shouting that out at another congressman.

Whackos like this have been shouting "Baby Killer" since the Viet Nam War.

Who cares? He's a loser. They should just let the loser's go home. They're no help.

I am pretty underwhelmed about the whole thing. Big bill, big emotions, some one got a little too heated. I am over it.

Rep. Neugebauer should apologize to the House from the floor.

So should the dozen or so Republicans who cheered and applauded the heckler as he was being removed from the gallery.

Another reason to be ashamed to be a Texan. Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cornyn....the other two reasons to be ashamed.

Stupak is a sellout. He trusts the lives of the unborn to a man that is one of the most pro-choice politicians there is. It's thus style politics. Stupak is a Democrat, it should be obvious that he would sell out so easily. In essence, Stupak is a baby killer and should be recognized as such. If he truly cared he wouldn't have voted for this bill and wouldn't have settled for a promised executive order from one of the most pro-choice people in politics. I applaud the guy with the courage to shout it how it is.

I completely agree with this. The House had been working for 10 hours of fierce debate, and everyone was worried about whether the bill would pass or fail.

The fact that only one person made an outburst is perhaps commendable, given the circumstances, and he should apologize, and everyone should move on.

Republicans seem to have gotten so mouthy lately.

I could see you making that comment if people were dwelling on this. I haven't seen much coverage of this at all. So who needs to move on?

Baby killer?.....No.......;)
Sell out?.....YES!......;)

I assumed that some idiotic Democrat would start calling for him to resign, so I made that post based on that inference. Given their track record, it seemed a possibility. Since nothing happened, and he apologized, it's done.

Love ya bro, but I think you are soooooo wrong.

Step away from the television. Put the remote down.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Don't let 'em wash your brain. Keep the faith.

I don't believe this went down the way the article in the OP implies. The representative in question has stated that he was referring to THE LEGISLATION and not to Stupak.

I don't see it as something that requires additional drama.

Well, I see it as a bigger picture.

Go back to the Newt and Kenneth Starr witch hunt days. There is your "first blood" so to speak. The partisan war is ON!

The dems contested the questionable Gore/Bush elections. A LOT of them never got over it.

The wingnuts took control.

Eight years later America kicked the wingnuts to the curve in overwhelming fashion. The numbers supporting their circa 1950's ideals are shrinking every day.

The direction the nation is choosing to go flies in the face of the nutter's. They're pissed. They're angry.

Most American's oppose the health plan but got it anyways. Much like most American's voted Gore, but got Bush anyways.

And here we are today.

Ain't payback a bitch?

Nobody likes to get jilted.

But I'm savoring every minute of their whiney discontent.

Hey look. His outburst was inappropriate, whether he was referring to Stupak or referring to the bill. He broke decorum. However, he has apologized, so let's just move on. When tempers flare, something like this can always happen. Congresscritters are human too. *

* Sometimes. :mrgreen:

I think it's time for us all to grow up. This country has serious issues, and there isn't time for this sort of b.s.

I am happy to see the Democrats NOT doing what I would suspect a Republican would do (demanding a resignation). I do think he should receive a reprimand for what he did, though.
