If there comes down to a vote tonight, will the health care bill pass or will it fail?

I'm not asking whether or not you support the bill.

I thought it already did...Or was that something else?

Pass, sadly.

Strangely if it passes this may be the only thing that would assure I'd vote for almost any republican in 2012, even Sarah Palin, just so we can make good on the one and only chance that this country will likely have to repeal this abomination.

According to C-SPAN, it is roughly going to take place around 9:30pm Eastern.

I've been watching C-SPAN, the House of Reps and I've realized that it is one of my favorite channels:
1) People boo when they exceed the time allotted to them
2) People are reminded to "heed the gavel"
3) This is everyone > :donkeyfla:elephantf
4) THERE ARE NO COMMERCIALS

That being said I'm sure it isn't nearly as interesting as Parliament.

There's no question it will pass when they bypass the 60 vote supermajority needed. It was never really contested too much in the House.

Sadly I think it will pass. America's last hope is if we can shoot this down through a legal battle. This is great news for Republican's in November and 2012 though.

I think it will. And although you're "not asking", I do support it.

Why? So more people can become dependent on Big Daddy Government to wipe their collective lazy asses??
now is it 'big daddy government' or 'big daddy gubment'? your confusing me

What about those who lost their health care due to Insurance company greed? Who either cut it or denied them due to Pre Existing, are they to be considered Lazy Asses? Especially when they get sick?

It's something called liabilities. But then again I don't expect Liberals to understand basic concepts of profit and loss because all Liberals hate capitalism, hate the private sector, and are under the sick delusion that government has the answer to everything!

So my husband can be insured. He's chronically ill, and needs medical insurance.
My eldest son is uninsured also, as was I until two years ago, and even now I don't pay for my insurance all by myself. I have to burden my relatives for assistance.

We are the working poor; we work hard, and health care is our right and the right of every other American citizen.
This is the wealthiest and most powerful country on the planet.
It's pathetic that our citizens don't have what citizens of every other industrialized nation- and even some developing nations- have.
We pay taxes, we work in the helping professions, we contribute our time to help those around us, we help make this country what it is.
We deserve to be able to go to the doctor when we're sick.

Where in the f*cking United States Constitution does it say healthcare is a right??!?!?!

Screw your constitution.
I'm ashamed to belong to a country where nearly 25% of the citizens don't have access to health care.
This isn't Ethiopia or the Congo. This is the US.
This reform is a century overdue.
Once again, Obama is finally making it possible for me to be proud of my country.

I don't hate the private sector dude. YOu're so ready to give people a label, tell them what they believe in and put them in a little box and tell em who they are.

Both countries I have lived in, Canada and Britain have Universal Health Care, that aint perfect but it doesnt leave anyone out because they're poor. Britain still has a healthy private health care sector and so do parts of Canada. We have capitalist economies, and in fact Canada's is so resilient due to Government regulation it held up better then almost any other Western Country during the recession.

It is the Constitution that is the very basis of the foundation of this country. Your problem is you, as well as the rest of your Communist biddies, seem to think that a big centralized government is the end all to society's ills. but it isn't! And this new monstrosity will prove the same old ****!

If this bill doesn't accomplish anything it still good to see all the "homo-liberal-socialist" hating, FOXNews clones, :roll:who just LOVE to get under other people's skin, all pissed off and fuming about it! It does my heart good! See? This bill is ALREADY making me healthier! :rofl

1. Its not getting shot down in a legal battle. That is fantasy.
2. Its actually a great boon to the Dems, as the issue is now behind us and they got something done, even with the Repubs throwing everything but the kitchen sink into their path. Its will be substantially out of the news cycle. Attention will now be on the replacement for Justice Stevens.

See, that's all you got Bassman, same as I knew you at WS, you gotta resort to name calling and generalizations. How about coming up with a well formulated argument.

1069 is not a communist. We just happen to believe that people having Health Care is a good thing.

It is do-good pinko Liberals like you that effectively ruined my home state, as well as all other states and cities run by Democrats!

But it is up to them, not big daddy gubberment!!!

I guess we should just close down all the schools then. Why should "big daddy gubbermint" provide public education to all? It's up to the individual to finance their children's education, isn't it?

Why should "Big Daddy Gubbermint" build roads, or provide EMS, police, or fire fighting services? It's up to you. Buy a fire extinguisher if you're worried about your house burning down. Learn CPR. Buy a gun. Why should others risk their lives to protect your ass from fire, crime, injury and illness? If you need their services, it's probably because of your own stupidity anyway. Take a little responsibility. Jeesh.

Why should "Big Daddy Gubbermint" provide you with water and sewage disposal? Dig a well. Build an outhouse. Is disposing of your poop really the government's responsibility? Talk about wanting someone to wipe your ass for you. Pathetic. :?
