The House will be debating the health care reform bill on Sunday. Will you be watching?

I have some housework to perform and the Indian Wells finals are on Sunday, but some of the best television I've ever seen has been from the floor of the House. I'm looking forward to it.

I should add that I've been watching the Rules Committee all day today. Okay, I'm a C-SPAN geek!

I doubt I'll be inside with gorgeous weather due. But, I'll be TiVoing it to enjoy watching history being made later in the day while sipping on a cool one. :2wave:

I won't have time between church and getting the vegetable garden tilled

I might we are having a snow storm here in Oklahoma shouldn't go out Church is canceled.

March Madness > Reading for class >>> Sharing needles with a homeless guy >>>>>>>>> Watching the debates live on TV

Not really, I already got welfare, food stamps, medical marijuana. I may watch though because with my welfare healthcare I can see my doctor right away, so I'm concerned that government health care may take longer in the waiting room like at the local Medi-Caid office? How does Obama care help me?

Americans have already decided they don't want Obamacare. There is nothing to debate.

100% of Americans have decided they don't want Obamacare?

Funny, I thought the polls indicated that 45% of Americans support it.

But I guess when you belong to a majority, you can pretend that everyone agrees with you. After all, a Constitutional Republic is built on the idea that a tyranny of the majority shall rule over the minority, right? Enjoy your argumentum ad populum. People who rely on fallacious thinking probably should stay away from debates.

All of a sudden you care about the Constitution. How convenient.

The only thing worse than tyranny of the majority is tyranny of the minority.

On topic: it's been debated for a year already now, what reason would anyone have to watch it?

They were on c-span today as well.
Watched a little but it's 72°+ today and for the Last few days in NY so FORGET c-span.
Tomorrow only 65°.

It's near beach weather in March in NYC!

I may watch some of it but have plans to go on a picnic:)

The rules vote is expected around 3 pm et according to C-SPAN.

After that there'll be two hours of debate on the reconciliation and Senate health care reform bills.

So, I guess there'll be two votes beginning sometime after 5 pm et today.

The rules debate is about to begin. It is expected to run about an hour.

I'd watch it, but I have to slam my genitals in an oven door repeatedly today.

I just tuned into it briefly. I changed the channel when I heard some idiot saying, "We're going to side with american families today. We're going to join together and side *against* insurance companies."

That was a ****ing idiot who wanted the bill passed. The bill that forces the entire populace to pay for our 'right to life' by way of forcing us to buy insurance... from who? ****ING INSURANCE COMPANIES. How in the **** is voting for the bill "siding against insurance companies" when it forces the entire population to BUY INSURANCE?

Jesus ****ing christ. These are the idiots that represent us?

I have been watching since around 2pm.

So far the people who want to pass the bill have not offered much more than hyperbole, no substance at all. Name dropping from Ted Kennedy to Martin Luther King, WTF?

This is stupid.

I'm watching it right now, and frankly I am disgusted by the arrogant man child and his bribed princes. I almost can't watch it because it's so awful.

Wolf Blitzer is starting to panic that they'll be here all night.

To be fair, I'd guess that 85% of Congressmen on both sides actually understand the issues, but recognize that they have to say idiotic things like this in order to win the support of the public. They're all praying that their inane comment will be chosen above all others to be featured on the peoplepc or aol news hompage.

Doesn't make it any better, but hey.
