Someone ought to blow the dome off the Capital Building.

Stop trying to reason with them.

Stop trying to guilt them into something.

They don't care about reason and they feel no guilt. They decided long, long ago that the opposition is nothing. They've been playing you like a fiddle the entire time....

The ghost of Ted Kennedy is once again used to push legislation...

I'm so glad I'm not watching that...

Refreshing to see our Representatives stand up for the people that put them in office!

Speaker Pelosi: A right, not a privilege … 10:29 pm et … They vote now!

Speaker Pelosi: A right, not a privilege … 10:29 pm et … They vote now!

I'm continually amazed at how uncritically you and others are looking at statements like this.

Do you actually think that this bill makes healthcare "a right, not a privilege"?

:mrgreen:thar she is!!!! 216 votes...APPROVED!!!

10:46 pm et, the Senate health care reform bill receives 216 votes and is passed.

When you want something said, ask a man.
When you want something done, ask a woman.

Speaker Pelosi added to her considerable legacy tonight.

Do you actually think that this bill makes having someone else involuntarily pay for your health care "a right, not a privilege"?
Fixed ....

The 34 democrats that opposed this deserve a medal for their courage.

Because pregnancy and all that jazz probably.

When I had insurance, I had to elect for a pregnancy addon. I then paid more if I wanted it. Which is the way it should be. I elected NOT to have it and was able to pay less.

So.. not sure how it's a pre-existing condition. Unless you consider being a man a pre-existing condition because men can have prostate problems and erectile dysfunction.

Well what do you know, the Democrats do have a spine!

You and the rest of Congress have been wiping your asses with the Constitution. Don't try to blow smoke and tell me that anything about this bill is Constitutional.

And I'm sure you felt the same way when Bush and Cheney were gutting our Constitution and trampling over our rights... right? You were just as incensed about the Patriot Act.. right?

You can't even point to the provision of the Constitution that would allow for this sort of tripe, and the General Welfare Clause (go look it up) isn't it.

Article I Section 8 of the Constitution, to regulate commerce among the states, will be used to support that Congress can indeed mandate that people buy health insurance or pay a fine.

Just admit that it is unconstitutional as hell, you want a new entitlement and you want to retain the government, and save the rest of the bull**** for someone who is too dumb to know any better.

:2rofll: If you think it's unconstitutional why don't you just tell us... why?

Nut up and report it then.

Nut up?

I almost guaranteed that you can't do that anymore.

Yea but to be painfully honest, in general, women eat that **** up.
You want a women to vote for you; do something for children, women health, etc.

Sure did. I try to keep my hypocrisy to a minimum. You should try it sometime.

By the way, wasn't your side supposed to do away with the USA PATRIOT Act? How's that working out?

In a word: WRONG. The Commerce Clause is not a catch-all for whatever business you feel like regulating. At least it wasn't intended to be that way.

Because there is no section in the Constitution that supports it. You swore to protect it once -- too bad you don't know what is in it.
Nut up?
Do you need me to draw you a picture or something?

Well hooray for you. You made history. And we all know any history is good history!
