The age of allies and alliances is o'er.
    No vote.
These occurred as stronger nations were a threat. Islam may be a threat, and this would be a reason for alliances,I think..
But the Islamic "threat" must be handled via knowledge...not military, not religion, but the truth, honesty and openness..

Goven the apparart need for 'an international consensus' before anyone can do anything, this cannot possible be true.

An approcach that requires the willingness of the opponent to be enlightened, a willingness that does not, nor will likely ever exist.

And, in any case, your response doesnt address the question -- whatever you think may eventually happen, the US certainly does have allies now.

so, what your saying is because imperial ambitions are gone, that negates military treaties?

or that military treaties between sovereign nations are a form of imperialism?

or that if you eat too much beetroot your pee will turn purple?

Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are technically part of Great Britain in a way.

Not really, but kinda. The Queen is their head of state, but they have complete independence from the UK.

only 'cause we share a head of state, other than that there's nothing except historical ties.
