I was wondering which operating system you all use and which one you think is the best. Personally, I use Mac OS X and I also think it's the best (except for gaming :()

I have Windows 7 Starter, (netbook) and Windows Vista on my home PC (which is out of commission for the time being.

I don't particularly feel either is that wonderful, but I've always used Windows products, since they seem to have a bit of a monopoly on user-friendly OS.

I am trying to find someone help me load Ubuntu to a memory stick (or sooner or later I am going to order an external CDrom drive for this thing) so I can try it out. I don't game in any sense of the word, so what I really need a good, stable and reliable OS. I haven't found that with ANY of the Windows OS's I've ever used.

I like Windows. It's relatively straight forward and easy to use. I have Window boxes for work/lab sorts of stuff. I have a Linux box just for me to play around with.

I use windows. Whether it is the best OS, I have no idea, but since it does whatever I need it to with a minimum of fuss, it works for me.

I use windows 7 64 bit edition. It doesn't seem to be as buggy or as much of a resource hog as vista. In my opinion it is better than the other OSs mostly because of software compatibility. The only emulators I need are to play nintendo and sega games. I could care less if those OS have less viruses and aware, thats due to the scarcity of users for those OS. Scarcity is only a good selling point for collectibles, not **** people use every single day and possibly have to have parts for. So what you can find a windows emulator that works Macs and linuxes and other OS that only five people on the whole entire planet use(Yes I know that more than 5 people use Macs and Linuxes, maybe 8 or 9 people use those OS, just kidding. There are probably a slightly significant amount of people who use those OSs).

Chrome is much less resource intensive, fast and flexible.Only the elite 13% use it. ;)

Windows XP.
I cannot say which is the better , a huge factor is the computers size(a laptop or a desktop).. ..if automobiles were as troublesome:shock::doh:roll:

Chrome is a browser, right? I'm using Chrome now. I used to use Firefox, but it was a resource hog big time... at least it was more stable than IE.

i have always being a windows man, and im running XP on an ancient PC and Vista on my laptop, i find it is good for most things.

I have a Mac laptop and I have had it for about 5 years now. The only problem I have ever had with it is needing to get one new battery. I can honestly say that if I never have to get another Windows again, I won't.

As of last year I run a dual boot Linux/Windows Vista but I only use Windows for a few appliations that I need to run for work. Otherwise, 99% Linux, 1% Windows. I find that Windows is a bloated disaster since Win98 I refuse to pay for crap. I use it a few times and I get viruses -- so I'd say that some of the newer versions of Linux like Ubuntu Koala which is free, can and should start replacing Windows. MAC O/S variants and Linux are very close and I'd suggest using anything before Windows.

I use Vista because that's what was on this drive when I assembled this francin'puter.

I know of the Microsoft line of Oss, and if others exist I'm to lazy to know or care.

A part of what I do is windows support, so I tend to not have problems with it. (If I did, I wouldn't be good at my job)

Secretly though, I like linux better

Oops! (note to self, must read for comprehension) Vista lies beneath. :3oops:

Still using XP.

I have a Vista Business and a 7 Pro lying around I got discounted via my alma mater. But I haven't bothered to install either.

Google Chrome is a browser and it is awesome. I use it, too.

My OS is Windows Vista. Works fine for me.

I have Vista.

Has anybody gotten this new update that takes hours? I don;t know exactly how long it took but I saw it before bed and woke up it was still going! I eventually had to pull the plug which it warned not to do. I looked it up and everybody was having problems.

I'm sorry but you need to make an appointment with me if you're going to leave me hanging without a computer for so long.

I'm very important ya know.

I really love Chrome. It's very quick and unobtrusive. I rarely use Firefox any more and for a long time, it was the only browser I'd use. I even tried Opera for awhile but Chrome is much better, IMHO.

I run Winsucks but only because Linux can't support the games I want to play yet. I keep hoping they'll be able to soon.

Bought this unit for $120.00 refurbished on E bay. When if dies, I'll buy another one. No more $2500.00 Computers that last just a couple of years for me.

Just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate x64, meh.

If there is anyone here who could (or would be willing) help talk me through downloading Ubuntu to a flash drive and then booting from that flash drive, pm me. I am *not* gifted in the area of computers and need all the help I can get. :3oops:

That's what I am running as well. It took some getting used to since I skipped over Vista, but so far I like it. It has some useful new features, even though most of it is the same stuff I could do in xp, just with a fancy new wizard.

Snow Leopard & Windows 7 64 bit.

As a lifelong Mac user, I prefer OS X. But Windows 7 is pretty darn fun.
