Is it possible?

The 17 'yes' people have watched Red Dawn way too many times... It's a movie, folks. It's not real life.

Stop already with this ridiculous discussion. It's like saying the Spice Girls could beat up Mike Tyson because there are 5 of them...

It's retarded to think that THIS:

Would have any problem with THIS:

We're talking a fight that would last a matter of seconds...

We have artillery batteries in Iraq and Afghanistan, too, and those conflicts have managed to last years. But don't let that get in the way of your GI Joe fantasies about warfare...

but would the soldiers be willing to fire into a crowd of people?

thats what a revolution would hinge on

Why would there be a crowd of people in the first place?

It's not like insurgents just stand around in big groups, openly challenging Specter gunships and artillery batteries.

Yes and guess what? All it would take is 12-20 people in right place at the right time. We would be done. People seem to think this would be so hard but it really would not.

Don't flatter yourself that a bunch of Nascar watching, beer-drinking gun nuts are in the same league as the insurgents.

It's not possible to overthrow the US government with a few goofball militias with hunting rifles. But of course, the hypothetical question of a hypothetical revolution pivots on the question of which side the soldiers are on.

You are correct they aren't. They are much, much better. Because we know all gun owners and people who support the 2nd amendment are Nascar watching beer drinking gun nuts.

I'm just surprised no one brought up relative banging or tobacco chewing yet.:doh

What's so special about the insurgents? Not that you would know anything about it, of course...

Yea, man, let me tell you. Those Iraqi insurgents are an elite fighting force. It takes a special skill set to plant an IED in the road or shoot an RPG at a Humvee or blind-fire an AK around a wall. Took them years of intensive training to learn how to do those things properly...

YeeeHaaaww! I got my Beer and a Dale Jr. Shirt to prove it:roll::rofl

Our military is quite capable but not invincible. The problem here is Hazel is associating all Americans who want to keep their rights as some kind of red neck.

That's to be expected from a Media Matters drone.

I just want to know why he thinks the insurgents are so special. Last time I checked, it wasn't that hard shoot at a patrol and run away.

They are elite fighters, a cross between ninjas and pirates.
Plus they ride on bear cavalry.

That's probably why Hazlnut and the other far-left loons thought victory in Iraq was impossible.

Apparently, our military would decimate an American insurgency within seconds, but quelling an Iraqi insurgency, that's an exercise in futility, what with their bear cavalry...

Insurgent Commander in full war regalia...

:2rofll:

That's hilarious.

You wouldn't be saying that if you had to face one of them down like I had to. I would have died, if not for The Delta Force...

I'd be more worried if they had this guy.

Without a viable movement, it is unlikely. The ruling class in Iran has discovered this truth.

The stereotypes that some have insisted on perpetuating in this thread are really appalling. If such stereotypes had been directed at a race, instead of at gun owners in general, or southerners, it would be viewed as a horrible example of bigotry.
