shocked2 Should we legalize cigarettes and fast food after marijuana?

If we legalize marijuana in the US, will that create a slippery slope which will lead to the legalization of far more harmful drugs such as cigarettes, alcohol, candy, sugar cereals, prescription drugs, and fast food burgers? Should we therefore keep pot illegal in order to make sure that it doesn't create a slippery slope which leads to the legalization of deadly-addictive substances such as beer, tobacco, and Big Macs (and don't even let me get started on cocaine and meth)? Discuss.

Actually he is right in some respects. Cigarettes and alcohol are far more damaging than weed.

Of course I am of the mind that all drugs should be legal for adults. I don't need the state as an adult to tell me what I can or cannot put in my own body.

The illegal actions against our freedoms to use drugs should be stopped.

If we outlawed fast food, there’d soon be blackmarket cowboys fighting turf wars in the inner cities. Obese junkies would be stealing car stereos while the cops wasted time and money combating small-time condiment smugglers. Worst of all, dealers won’t be checking IDs, so our children will have an easier time getting a cheeseburger they they would getting a pack of cigarettes or a six pack of beer.

Um... all those things are legal already. Where are you from?

But no, I don't think it would be a slippery slope... if we legalized weed we would not eventually legalize cocaine or meth. I'd be against legalizing meth and cocaine at least. Those are on completely different levels compared with pot, beer and cigarettes.

You need a fourth option of: "What???" lol

    Is that the usual method?

Weed does not have the cancer causing carcinogens of nicotine. It is also not physically addictive. The smoking itself could contribute to lung disease, but not heart and artery diseases like nicotine.
