No, this young fellow looked like an unemployed loser with low aspirations, other than getting high, getting tatted, and getting laid.
And ... this is what the holes in his ears told you?

He wanted them to see that we were missing out on an excellent opportunity in hopes that it would be a catalyst for changing company policy.
Meh, why should I have to look at a freakshow when I go to work everyday?......

Well that's just stupid. Anyone that goes into an interview with the hopes of "being a catalyst for changing company policy" doesn't deserve the job; the interview is about getting a job, not taking a moral stance.

I think some of you guys who responded with variations on "he must be unemployed" must live in some pretty sheltered places. I know lots of people with all kinds of tattoos and piercings and crap and while many of them do work in kitchens almost as many are employed in professional settings.

There's lots of very talented people who work at non-profit organizations and small creativity oriented businesses (graphic design firms, video editing studios, etc.) that could probably make more money at more mainstream businesses but choose not too so that they can pursue a lifestyle more comfortable to them.

The joke is on big stiff corporations because their smaller competitors are getting just as good (and sometimes better) work out of people for less money, and all they have to do is tolerate some nose rings.

My roommate manages multiple restaurants and makes 60k a year and has so many tattoos that she's been on the cover of tattoo magazines. Sometimes I think in big cities it's almost a disadvantage to not have lots of mods.
This is completely true. Outside of white collar jobs these things are pretty well tolerated.

"I do not claim that every incident in the history of empire can be explained in directly economic terms. Economic interests are filtered through a political process, policies are implemented by a complex state apparatus, and the whole system generates its own momentum."

They can think it all they want, but....
Since I'm the boss they had better not say it.......

I agree, but generally these types need to make a 'statement'.......

    That depends on the job.......

What do you think when you see someone so attired. How does someone like that expect to advance their career? I speculated that perhaps he is a tatoo artist?
The first guy I dated after my divorce was 27 and had gauged ears. Tattoos, too. He's now in his 30s and an administrator with Social Security. He's extremely smart, literate, and motivated.

I don't judge people based upon decorative tattoos, etc. I've known way too many sharp, professional folks who have tats & piercings.

p.s. I find them kind of hot, actually.
