Is Europe "freer" that America or just as "free"?

Is the EU a freer, more open society in terms of rights and policies?

Huh? What are you saying mate?

As reality would have it, you dont need loose gun laws to kick start a civilian revolt or revolution. The Taliban are working wonders, even when guns are banned....so if the governments turns on you, do not fear. The black market is here.....

EDIT: You didn't get what i said initially?

As a matter of fact, you can use "reasonable force" against him to repel him.
What you cannot do is pursue him down the street and break a cricket bat over his head giving them brain damage. Or shoot him unless he's about to shoot you.

In the UK? Or US?

Reasonable is a subjective adverb... unless a definition of "reasonable" is clear, the vague and vacuous nature of it's subjectivity renders the word meaningless.

No.Most states recognize the right to defend yourself, home and family.
Not all states have the castle doctrine. So yes if you defend yourself against a criminal in your home you may get into trouble. You should read some up on the castle law like this one "The occupant(s) of the home must not have provoked or instigated an intrusion, or provoked or instigated an intruder to threaten or use deadly force". But then again I live in Illinois and we have a weak castle law system. Go figure.

I think one thing Europe has that the US is missing is legalized prostitution like red light districts in Germany or the low countries. Plus a no drinking age like Denmark would be nice.

I'd rather have my arms readily available. Tyrannical governments don't let rebels call a time out...

You wont have much effect on the US marines. You're already screwed with that massive defence budget which will just work against you. I dont think you should worry to much anyway. You might also be pleased to know you are allowed guns in Europe btw....

You are probably more free to do drugs, but prohibited from buying a sugary cereal.

Why? Marines get killed all the time. They're not super-humans.

By the way, I was a US Marine. Any squad patrolling my neck of the woods would be in for a nasty surprise...

And despite all that super-awesome technology, rag-tag insurgencies manage to inflict causalities on us.

Well the thing is that the government allows for any purchases done, hell if you have the money you can buy a tank online. BUT the government makes sure that the gun cannot be fired. And retired jet aircraft from the military are not allowed to be sold with the radar or any weapons. And any gun you buy is not military grade and same with the ammunition. So trust me any arms you have the government has better.
The truth is that we may believe we are free but try letting for your grass to grow over 11 inches and watch the government come ready to fine you. Also I don't believe you understand since most ordinances or laws are written to give control freaks authority maybe that is just the case here in suburbia. But my town has a limit on the number of dogs you can own and it is a no bark community and you can not park more cars than is allowed on the driveway and you must rent an extra storage space unless you want for the government to fine you and when they fine you it isn't just a small piece of government after you. Its the whole.

I agree that the US is not as free as it should be.

I call bs on you being a former marine I've seen you in real life and you are not too impressive. But really a young marine would rape you in real life.

yeah, but casualties are not the same as deaths. If you have seen videos of RPG-29's going off hitting US tanks you see that even if the tank is ruined the people inside it are not.

I know but i bet an army full could kick your ass. :2razz:
Your hands would be tied, unless you get in contact with a bunch of freedom fighters or something. I dont know. I just dont think the possible impact on society is worth legalizing it, considering the chances of your government turning on you is minimal, if there is any chance at all.

By the way, I was a US Marine. Any squad patrolling my neck of the woods would be in for a nasty surprise...

Cool, my brother was in the army. When did you serve?

True say. We are raping the Taliban though. I just dont see a bunch of American freedom fighters toppling the governments domestically. The Taliban cant manage it and there only up against 50,000 overseas American soldiers.

Have you been stalking him?

No nation in Europe has a Constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms.

Less Free.

No First Amendment or equivalent in Europe that I'm aware of.

Less Free.

Most employers in Europe cannot fire employees without God's approval.

Less Free.

Unfortunately, the United States doesn't obey it's own Constitution, so many of our freedoms are eroding, too.

Obviously, a single person wouldn't stand a chance. I'm talking about an organized insurgency.

Your hands would be tied, unless you get in contact with a bunch of freedom fighters or something. I dont know. I just dont think the possible impact on society is worth legalizing it...

What impact?

...considering the chances of your government turning on you is minimal, if there is any chance at all.

Why is that? Has human nature changed in the past one hundred years?

Cool, my brother was in the army. When did you serve?

2004-2008.

If 10% of the US population revolted, the size of the insurgency would be roughly 30 million. The United States is one of the largest countries on the planet, with some of the most varied and difficult terrain. Quelling an insurgency in the United States would be virtually impossible.

Other.

Our perceptions of "freedom" are different. So radically different that it reflects in our own personal politics as well as our policy.

That the Europeans don't see their chains doesn't mean the chains aren't there.

some states in the US do not have a "right to work" law. Which basically means that they cannot fire any one on the spot. If they are going to they are going to have to tell the employee beforehand. Also the right to bear arms isn't good unless you get to bare the same arms as the government which we don't get(excluding WMDs').

So he is probably older now. What was you expecting? Rambo?

Dude, I have no idea who the hell this freak is. I doubt he's stalking me, though, because if he had seen me he would never say I wasn't impressive...
