Well what do you think.....Tomorrow is the big day

Since Obama is putting forth his own plan it will be a sham.. This is not a meeting to come up with a plan but a meeting for Obama to promote his plan.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Yes for successful or yes for sham? Or no for sham? :doh

I can guarantee it will be more successful than this poll. :rofl

Ahh so you already saw it?

If Obama was interested in working with the GOP he would not have brought forth his own plan first. He would have asked what do we need to do to get both sides to come together. Instead Obama threatens reconciliation.

Its nothing more than a head count and getting everyone on record for the upcoming mid-terms.

Call me when the GOP has a plan.

It will be a huge dog and pony show that will accomplish exactly zero.

Republicans will talk about insurance companies competing across state lines, which is an issue that the Democrats won't address as it is a Republican idea.

Republicans will bring up tort reform, and the Democrats will tell us it didn't save a lot where it was tried.

Republicans will harp on federal funding for abortions, as if that weren't a detail that could be worked out. Democrats will ignore the issue.

Democrats will promote their watered down and thoroughly unworkable plan, while Republicans will decry it as unworkable.

Meanwhile, nothing of note will happen, and the cost of health care will continue to soar out of reach of more and more Americans.

That's my totally optimistic projection. it could turn out to be worse than that.

Call me when Obama has a plan that goes into effect before 2018

See I can't do that because as far as the summit is going right now, the GOP and Dems are doing exactly what is expected of them: nothing.

They disagree on every single issue, so its likely we will never see anything on this healthcare business.

Both.

It's supposed to be a sham, therefore it will be a successful sham.

I don't think it's a "sham" but neither do I think it will be a success.

But, then again, perhaps it is a sham though. I think Obama knows the GOP didn't come to debate in good faith or advance health care reform constructively. It could be that he is just wanting to shine the light on GOP obstruction and opposition to healthcare reform for the country to see with their own eyes.

And since an OVERWHELMING majority of Americans want health care reform, and Obama KNOWS the GOP don't wanna give it to them, it very well may be politically motivated.

Very good question.

It's a win-win for Obama either way. Either the GOP will show their stubborness and piss off the majority of Americans who want health care reform and the democrats benefit from the voting blow-back OR the GOP will roll up their sleeves and get in the mix to help come up with some solutions.

RIIIIGHHHTTT!!!!

The Senate Majority Leaders is making plans to "reconcile" this bill to bypass that pesky cloture requirement and it's the GOP that isn't approaching the matter in "good faith".

Well, since the socailists' goal is to steam roll this process anyway, since theren't nothing American about the Messiah's plan, let alone Constitutional, I say the GOP should simply go fishing on the day the Senate decides to reconcile itself in opposition to the wills of two thirds of the people in the country.

Uh, Uh, Uh, we don't need no stinkin props at this summit! (as Canter can be barely seen behind the 5500 page pile of this excuse for a total federal takeover of our healthcare)

A success for the Republican from what I've heard. They aren't cowaring before the One nor ignoring the content of his plan.
