People Who Smoke Marijuana Are...

There are a few problems associated with marijuana. First of all, rolling papers are too costly. When I somoked my first joint they were two packs for anickle and now they are two dollars a pack [just kidding]

The pot available today is about ten times as strong as the pot from the sixties. Who knows what type of weird chemicals a dealer might use to stretch it out and what the effects would be.

Kids now days smoke blunts, a flavored cigar wrapper stuffed with pot. One blunt with top grade pot could derail a train. And there is the ever present bong for an extra kick.

Who needs that? You might as well be sniffing glue when you abuse it like some people do. Pot is like salt to some people. They need it to get through life but too much is unhealthy.

So remember, don't Bogart the joint.
Good points---the thing is, no mater what happens, a Man has to do his own thing. I smoke exactly how much I want, and exactly when I want to. I don't just take what is passed my way. that behavior is for Kids, that are still trying to fit in and be cool. Cool people don't care what others think. I have found through experience that "moderation in all things" is a pretty good way to face the world.

People who smoke pot are no worse than people who drink.

you must be really, really old. ;-)

What is your personal opinion of people who smoke marijuana?

Depends...

MOST of them grow out of it and become productive members of society...judges, lawyers, educators, politicians, etc.

SOME of them stay in mom and dads basement till they are 65.

Pot affect people differently. Some people I know have loved it at first toke and some people will freak out on it.

I knew a young lady about twenty who was raised a straight catholic girl and never did drugs in her life and did not even drink or smoke.

She married this guy who turned out to be Mr goodbar. He was into s&m and forced her to smoke pot on their honeymoon. The honeymoon was short lived and I think the girl's dad took care of the perv.

She would have freaked without the pot but it made it harder for her to cope with it.

are you high right now? the response of an individual smoking weed is as varied as we are as individuals.

Not high, darnit. You are right about the varied responses, especially depending on the quality of the weed.

don't get me wrong, i don't believe it's any more harmful than alcohol, but really, impairment isn't a bad thing?

No, it's not entirely a bad thing. CaptainCourtesy pointed out that it is the impairment which is the attraction of getting high. My assertion is that getting high and thus being impaired is not entirely a bad thing. I am a strong proponent of experiencing altered mental states, as long as you stay reasonably safe. Pot, psilocyban are both in the category.

I bet you over eat, eat crappy food or drink soda?

Or maybe you are perfect:roll:

Nope. I'm diabetic. I'm not overweight at all, I eat healthy and while I do drink soda, it's sugar-free stuff.

Come on, I think it's funny that instead of admitting that pot smokers are fools, you're trying to attack the guy who brings the message.

And all people that smoke weed are not stupid either. :(

I beg to differ and since this thread is about opinion, I'm entitled to it. I think all people who smoke are stupid too. There's a point at which performing an act is just dumb, regardless of the people who do it. Shooting up heroin, no matter who does it, is an idiotic act.

In the end, if you have to drink, snort, ingest or inject something into your body to make you feel good about yourself, there's something seriously wrong with you.

Yet, didn't you mention in another thread that you are on some serious psychotrophic medications?

I strongly believe, and there is evidence to back me up, that users of mind altering substances such as pot and hallucinogens, triggers brain imbalances leading to bipolar and schizophrenia.

I feel that the holistic lifestyle of exercise and nutrition contributes to balance, physically and psychologically. Altering brain chemicals through substances, on the other hand, can only lead to imbalance and disruption of the delicate chemical signals that our brains rely on.

I feel that tampering with our neuron synapses just for fun is asking for trouble down the road.

I smoke pot all the time and I'm quite intelligent - in fact, I find I'm more lucid when I write high as opposed to not.

Not to be judgemental or anything, but on the one hand you claim to be intelligent and on the other, your actions prove you're anything but, at least in regards to your drug-use habits.

As they say, actions speak louder than words. No offense intended.

while I do drink soda, it's sugar-free stuff.
Which is actually worse for you

Come on, I think it's funny that instead of admitting that pot smokers are fools, you're trying to attack the guy who brings the message.

No, she's trying to point out that everyone has a vice. For instance, I find it hilariously ironic to watch people spout off at the mouth about people using 'drugs as a crutch' while they suck down their third espresso.

But hey, you want to live as 'clean' as you can, feel free. But that doesn't mean that the rest of the world is stupid for not living the way you choose to.

I mean personally, I like to enjoy and experience life. That includes drinking sometimes, using some drugs, having some sex, jumping off of cliffs, dropping over waterfalls, falling out of planes, etc, etc. After all, as one of my most favorite quotes says: "Life's journey isn't to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but to slide in sideways, worn out, beat up, and totally spent, screaming 'Holy ****! What a ride!'. "

I mean, on my deathbed, do you think I'm going to sit and smile about all the pleasure I denied my body so that I wouldn't 'harm' it? **** no. I'm going to reminisce about all the ****ing fun I've had abusing the **** out of it. ;) But that's just me. You want to live a 'safer' life with less risk, that's your choice. I don't consider you stupid for it. Just different than me. You should try and understand others are not going to make the same choices you do, and that's doesn't mean they're 'stupid'.

In the end, if you have to drink, snort, ingest or inject something into your body to make you feel good about yourself, there's something seriously wrong with you.

Who ever does any of that to 'feel good about themselves'?

Anyone? Anyone?

Beuller?

That's what I thought. No one.

Just burned your strawman for ya there, bud. You're welcome.

It's essentially flavored water. No sugar, no caffeine, no calories. Not worse for you at all.

I'd agree with you. Oh wait, I don't drink coffee either.

It has nothing to do with how I choose to live, this whole thread is about an opinion. I gave mine. It's sad that so many people have to attack others for their opinions because they apparently aren't really comfortable with their life choices. If someone wants to do things that I think are stupid, they can go ahead. What I think about it shouldn't matter. When it so obviously does to so many people, then I have to wonder what's going on in their heads.

If it has artificial sweetener in it, yes it is worse for you.

I never said you did.

No dear, it doesn't matter to me in the slightest what you think. Why the hell would it?

We're just pointing out that what you think is ignorant, short-sighted, and wrong, that's all. That's just our opinion, of course. ;) :2wave:

I have three degrees in burns.

What if we're not doing to "feel good about ourselves"? What if we're doing it because we simply enjoy the sensations, or maybe because it helps alleviate anxiety? Do you honestly think it's as simple as pot smokers = stupid? Do I strike you as a stupid person?

What actions? I'm a straight A student and a biology major. I've basically self-educated myself in law and politics from internet forums. I'm a veteran of OIF. My aptitude in math and science is very strong. I don't get into trouble with the law. I'm still quite athletic. I don't really see why my actions would indicate that I'm stupid.

So your argument is that you must "grow out of" marijuana usage before you can become a productive member of society?

Cephus' definition of stupid is anyone who does something he disagrees with.

It seems like that's the case. I'm not interested in tooting my own horn, but I'm definitely not stupid. Some people are just different, is all...

Do you think ALL of your actions have to show intelligence in order for one action to be deemed stupid?
