I believe that trusting the government and disapproving of it are two different things............

    How so?

If you distrust the government, one would think you also disapprove of it...right?

If you disapprove of the government, one would think you also distrust it.

How can you disapprove of something you trust, and how can you trust something you disapprove of?

    I suppose it's POSSIBLE...but unlikely.

That's because government sucks. I hope that people can start to see now that the R and the D make relatively little difference. We were supposed to get hope and change, and instead we got status and quo. All the wealthy jerks causing problems get bailed out, while unemployment goes relatively unchecked. Produce growth...produce growth says the Fed. But that's not their mandate, their mandate is to balance inflation and unemployment. Growth is great, but it doesn't necessarily result in jobs. It results in money for Wallstreet and the Banks, but not for Mainstreet America. And people see this now, and they are pissed. I hope they can see through the shell game which is the Republocrats.
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

I hope so, but I suspect not. People like to bitch and moan, but they don't really want to fix problems. If they did, they wouldn't have much to bitch about, thus they would need to get a life.

I trust the government to be a bureaucracy.

I don't trust politicians to pass legislation to the benefit of the country.

We need a new class of politician beholden to practical moderation and integrity, not special interests and the money train.

    Welcome the Whigs.

Are you of the contention people believe that it is the governments money and not the peoples? Have you ever considered that it may be everyones money as in "ours". You say "ours" and it sounds more like "mine" to me. I don't think anyone no matter how far left believes the government has a right to peoples money for its own sake.

Why is it that anytime someone suggests that the government is too big and not to be trusted they are automatically assumed to be an anarchist?
If you're assuming Im assuming your anarchist because I think you think the government is too big, and you're assuming that anyone who thinks otherwise that the government is too big and un-trustable is a 'statist leftist', Ill leave you in a corner to argue with yourself since you have everyone covered.

You mean like the Republicans and Democrats?

I actually thought when you made the comment about the alternative, you were referring to total *lack* of government - with which I agreed. Apparently, you were just talking about rejecting those that see things a bit differently, by calling them rejects. Nice.
