Have you filed your income tax yet?

Are you getting a refund or do you owe?

How does last year compare to 2008?

I did mine tonight and while I am getting a bit of a refund from Federal, I owe the State. Last year I got quite a bit back on both fronts and did not change any of my withholding.

I did very well last year and anticipate a good sized refund. I use a tax preparer and need to get that down to her ASAP, thanks for the reminder.

Yep, did it about 3 weeks ago.

Getting a refund.
Well not really a refund as I didn't pay anything.

I was given approximately $2,000 more this year than last year, nothing changed in regards to my income and my withholding stayed the same.

Mind you I did not pay any federal taxes but they thought it nice to take your money and give it to me. :screwy

Getting some of my money back.

I always owe.

I never pay until the last day.

Taxes suck.

I havent filed yet, but will be getting a refund back

Usually I try to adjust our withholdings to where we get little to nothing back when we file. The reason being is that I don't see the point in giving the government an interest free loan just so we can get a refund come tax time.

We adopted last year so with all the deductions associated with that, we will be getting a refund this year. I filed a week ago. We never use a preparer anymore, I just use H&R Block Taxcut Software.

I thought that the government paid interest on withheld money? I must have been mistaken. I claim a minimal amount of deductions in order to offset the fact that I have unearned income from rental properties. That way, I get a hefty return from my employment withholding and can turn around an pay property taxes in full for the year with said return.

On the other hand, with higher income each month, it would most likely be spent on nonessentials, more than offsetting the small amount of interest lost.

As an unemployed student who hasn't been employed sense 2008 I don't really need to file my taxes  There was nothing to tax in the first place.

Filed and getting a refund, as usual.
