Why don't you guys distingush between first time offenders and the ones who do it over and over again? There is no way I support castration for first timers, because I believe everyone should get a second chance. (and it may not even work) Of course they should end up in prison, but after their sentence they should be given another chance. People do stupid stuff once in a while.
You must remember that the pedophile may be innocent or he may be hiding his gay feeling. The monsters are the ones who do it again.

Impulsively stealing a neighbor's lawnmower when you're 19 is "doing stupid stuff", and yeah after you have paid up you deserve a second chance.
If the crime is forcible rape, most especially forcible rape of a child under 13, there should be no "second chance" to show whether you will or will not do it again. Do you not comprehend the horrific nature of this crime? Imagine if it was your child the perp blew his "Second chance" molesting.

I don't see why anyone would vote "no". If you commit armed robery, you lose your right to use a gun. If you rape a child, you should lose your right to use a penis.
It would be horrible if that happend to my child, and I would probably hate the person who did it. What parent wouldn't? But I am a strong believer in a second chance. Some people screw up with minor offences. Some people do horrible stuff, like rape and murder but I still believe people should get a second chance after prison. You must also remember that this person could be innocent. Many people who get sentenced to prison is innocent and hasn't done anything wrong.
Although, if he murders the child after he rapes her, then you have breached my limit. Then you should get a death penalty.

I understand that people are particularly disgusted by this kind of crime, as am I, but the arguments that you should lock them up forever because they are very likely to do it again could apply to just about any crime.
