    San Diego area is one of the most expensive places to live in the country. My 1 bedroom cost me 2k/month in rent alone. Add utilities to that and you get a much higher figure.

    When I said my apt cost me a third, I meant the apt and necessary utilities. Water, for instance, was pretty expensive in that area.

    And yes, I was giving an approximation anyway.

    if you want lower tuition prices then it means paying more taxes, and americans complain about taxes 24-7, even though they only pay a maximum of 35%. you cant have it both ways.
