I don't care.I didn't watch. I do not regularly watch state of the unions. Its all nothing but a bunch of hot air until the president does something.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Re: SOTU Poll

Mediocre. A lot of hypocritical double talk (his stance on partisanship mixed with what he’s actually done in the past year and the partisanship shown in his speech. His stance on not campaigning while he’s continually seeming in campaign mode), a great deal of spinning of what he’s done in the past year, blaming Bush’s foreign policy for any and all bad while taking credit for foreign policy that is right in line with what Bush was doing (Such as the Iraqi pullout this year), and a lot of lofty goals explained with extremely lofty rhetoric that are either rehashes of goals he’s failed to accomplish thus far or seem beyond what he’s going to be able to do.

Nothing stood out to me, nothing he said really swayed me or changed my opinion of him that has been lowering since he came into office, and nothing wowed me. He didn’t utterly and completely infuriate me as he did at times during the campaign with some of his speeches that were littered with errors and factually questionable comments, but it wasn’t great in my eyes at all.

For a speech that started out in part talking about needing to end partisanship, which he’s talked about the whole time he ran up to election, it was just more of the same “We end partisanship by you all shutting up and doing what I say we need to do” mentality that has defined the way he’s attempted such “Bipartisanship” in the past year.

Pretty terrible. It was a repeat of a year ago. More bash Bush and pat myself on the back with lies.

Everything for everyone means little will get done again this year and Obama will continue to blame Bush and the GOP.

    Re: SOTU Poll

Disappointing. He didn't even get to health care until 35 minutes into the speech (after he found the time to talk about community colleges), and then spent a mere 5 minutes on the subject. His claim that he doesn't quit would have been a lot more believable if he had actually talked about the subject instead of just whisking through it as quickly as possible to get on to something else.

I think he made it blatantly clear that he no longer cares about health care reform. If they don't pass a health care bill, I will not be voting this November.

Agreed, I didn't watch it and don't care. Anyone can get up and talk about problems, all I care is what they actually do to solve them. Someone let me know when Obama actually accomplishes something.

He is to busy blaming the GOP and Bush. Solutions would mean taking responsibility something Obama doesn't want to do.

I don't care who he points fingers at but he wasn't elected to blame others, he was elected to solve problems. So far, he's miserably failed to carry out every single campaign promise he made and the situation isn't improving any. Obama has been a whole lotta lip-flapping and virtually no positive action.
