It fails on so many levels. No way I'd ever waste my money on such a crippled device.
I'm hoping that the second generation of the device is better. The original iPods weren't very good, but they responded to consumer suggestions pretty quickly. Maybe some of those things will get added later (although I wouldn't hold my breath for the removable battery).
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

Removable battery is not Apple's style.

I fail to even see a need for 3G to begin with. I don't have it on my netbook, so I certainly wouldn't need it on a tablet.

The irony of AT&T allowing this is priceless and it will definitely bite them in the ass as a result. They're already whining how iPhone users are straining their antiquated system because of the increased net traffic. What did they expect when they forced them into data plans that many of them didn't even want? Did they think these customers would just fork over $30 and not use the service?

And now this ..unreal ..corporate just doesn't have a clue ..LOL

The touch's are still crippled; even after three generations. They still lack:
    • camera w/ flash
    • video camera
    • microphone
    • GPS
    • electronic compass
    • microSD card slot
    • FM radio
    • replaceable battery

Apple deliberately cripples 1st gen devices in order to add the "missing" features in future generations, thereby getting owners to buy these devices all over again.

Of the 3 things I mentioned earlier (webcam, replaceable battery, SD slot), I only see Apple adding the webcam. I also see early adopters buying a second iPad in order to get that feature. I also see Apple laughing all the way to the bank.

It's a nice looking device. It does all of what I use my home computer for: email, web, music, notes. The price is right. I'll buy one.

The iPad's biggest failure is its lack of multitasking. I always have more than one window open at a time. For its intended purpose, that omission is a deal breaker.

I expect it supports multitasking. More than one page of Safari can be open at one time. Even the Nano does multitasking as you can play music and use the pedometer simultaneously. What actual evidence do you have that it does not support multitasking? Do you have one? Have you studied one? Is there product analysis done somewhere?
