    Re: The Wars On Terror

I voted for every single option just so I could be part of the process without really contributing. Anyway I think after 9/11 there should have been a request made by the President to Congress for a DoW against Afghanistan, specifically the Taliban gov't. Same with the Iraq war.

Article 2, Section 8 says that only congress has the power to declare war. They can not delegate their power to the president. This would be against the seperation of powers doctrine in constitutional law.

The ways in which the wars are being conducted are not enumerated in the constitution at all.
constitution and laws really dont mean anything. the people in power can do whatever they want. in the end, all american people seem to do is say "support the troops". so how will anyone be detered to start random wars for u.s. business interests.

"A standing army is dangerous to liberty". We should have a draft because then we will not have to worry about a right wing military coup.

We haven't won any wars because our leaders haven't tried to win the war, not to mention all those hippy dope heads demonstrating in front of recruiting stations and marching on Washington during the Vietnam era. Now those same dope heads are running the country.

This old fart was drafted in 1964. I never met a rich draftee in the army.

They were mostly country boys, blacks, and hispanics who were the grunts.

He was a mistake as President but not the biggest mistake for President. Carter still holds that honor, but Obama is quickly catching up.

Considering the "War on Terror" has created more problems than it's solved....my inclination would be to say it hasnt worked
