Will Ted Kennedy's seat go Republican or stay Democratic?

I'm shocked to read that a Republican has a good chance to win Kennedy's seat. What do you all think?

President Obama's charm offensive didn't work in New Jersey or Virginia, where Republicans won crucial gubernatorial races in November. Will it work in Massachusetts?

That remains to be seen, as Obama puts his prestige on the line again when he goes to the Bay State on Sunday to stump for Democratic nominee Martha Coakley, who is in a dead heat with Republican candidate Scott Brown for Ted Kennedy's Senate seat.

"It's white-knuckle time," Democratic operative Phil Johnston told the Boston Herald. "This is an election we have to win. It's key to everything the Obama administration wants to do. The stakes are high."

In fact, the stakes are even higher for the president than they were in last year's gubernatorial races, as he seeks to avoid losing a critical 60th vote in the Senate for his signature health care overhaul that is nearing the finish line in Congress.

If Brown wins Tuesday, Republicans pick up their 41st vote, which would be enough to sustain a filibuster and possibly kill the reform bill.

The most recent poll has Brown leading by 4 percentage points, and the Republican state senator reportedly is raising money at a rate of $1 million a day. Meanwhile, Coakley's campaign is under fire for the way she's run her campaign, going from front-runner to barely competitive after taking it easy following her primary victory in December.

I am not entirely sure, from the new polls its does show that brown is 4 points a head. However, this race seems to be a very close call.

I'm really surprised. I thought Massachusetts was solidly Democratic. It seems almost a slap in the face to Kennedy for his long held seat to go to his rivals.

If a "Republican" wins, I see very sad times ahead for our nation, in the ensuing years.
Massachusetts is supposed to be one of our more "advanced" states.
Maybe our nation is not ready for reform and joining the 21st century.

It's about F******G time, enough of the dynasty crap....
Brown put one reporter in his place when he said, "It's the people's seat, not Ted Kennedy's.....
That seat would be empty if he had not changed the law back again before he croaked, after he changed it to suit him the first time, the epitome in hypocrasy....
The whole Caroline Kennedy thing made me puke as well....
A senate seat should not be an entitlement.....
Hopefully, a win will kill the folly of this health care crap, unless they drag their feet on certification.....
It's time for Taxachusetts to wake from it's Kool Aide induced stupor....

Conservative ideas seem to work fine for the wealthy...
Check out their(French, for one) crime rate and compare it to ours.
Check out our poverty rate and compare it to the the Europeans.
    Check out anything.
I do not like the idea that our nation is , in the eyes of others "back-wards".
Having the world's strongest military changes this not.

I think Brown will win it. He has the momentum on his side.
    Are you coming to bed?
