If I lived closer I would volunteer my medical professional services. It's just logistically impossible for me at the moment.
 
We have hungry homeless people right here at home---they should come first. Let the Dominion republic help. They share the same Island, and won't even take them water. what does that tell ya about the kind of Neighbors the Haitians are?

They are human beings, above all. Yes, they are a dysfunctional society, which makes the suffering even worse for them.

I'm glad our strong and wealthy nation is taking charge over there. They need help.

The conditions in Haiti, and the 3rd world in general, are not even comparable to the conditions of even the poorest Americans.

And we do help our poor as well. But this situation is a humanitarian calamity of the highest degree.

We are a generous, compassionate nation and this disaster is in our Hemisphere, not very far away from our shores.
