    Re: IS this ad racist?

The first one could be viewed as racist because the white guy is the only white guy there - claims it's "awkward" and then offers fried chicken to the black people around him stating it is "too easy". Those who don't see the racist element at all... exchange the KFC for Watermelon... see maybe a bit of it now? So I didn't see it as racist the first time I watched it, but I looked at it again 3 more times with a critical eye and yes, it could be construed as racist.

The second South Park --- it's more racist against the Chinese. Knowing the hisotry of the American Indian and how the Army and others infected blankets with Small Pox... I find it not racist to White Americans nor American Indians but a commentary on the slaughter of the native American people of this country. The Chinese could be a little miffed but then again, they're big boys and can take it. IT was funny though.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

First off, it was filmed in a part of the world that doesn't have that stereotype.

Second off, I have yet to meet any meat-eaters in my travels who didn't like fried chicken. If you thrust a piece of fried chicken at me, I'd probably STFU and eat it too.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

There's nothing even the slightest bit racist about that ad.

No racism there. However, as the OP demonstrates, imagination thrives in pure ignorance.

It's not remotely racist but I think it's clear that there are people, especially in the U.S., who are ridiculously racially oversensitive, especially because there are spokesmen like Al Sharpton who make their money banging the "racism" drum and inciting people to anger over essentially nothing.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

It's an Australian ad. This stupid stereotype about black people and fried chicken is only present in American culture. It does not exist anywhere else. So, in that light, the ad would certainly create a ****-storm if it was shown in the US where many would consider it racist.

Wait wait wait.... Are you saying there's a cultural world beyond that of the United States? Preposterous.

It's not racist in my opinion. The ad was aired in Australia and they don't have the chicken stereotype like the United States.

I know, right? I couldn't believe it myself, but it's true. It's actually out there.
