The thing about Liddy is that he has lots of good life experience and education, and is genuinely intelligent. I don't think Rush is as intelligent as he is clever, and Hannity is just an idiot.

Yes, Liddy definitely has a leg to stand on, having actually served time for the Nixon debacle. He is a respectable gent. Rush is just a radio personality with lots of opinions and a big mouth, in my opinion.

I prefer to listen to his show when Walter E Williams is subbing, or that Brit guy whose name escapes me.
He bills himself as a conservative first. Nevertheless, if someone can put up a viable candidate that is conservative, he'll probably support them. He knows that the Republicans are the only game in town right now.

I don't know how ot answer it - I listen to him when my husband's home during hte week and wants to listen to him.

I would never listen to him on my own and when my husband does listen to him I usually find something fun to do - like baking bread or mowing the lawn, etc etc.

    Re: Rush Limbaugh

I started listening to Rush in 1988, and reliably through the first half of the 90's. I'm busier now, but still find time to listen occasionally.

That's how I know it's total bull crap when the Messiah Worshippers claim Rush said he wanted their demi-god to fail.

Rush said that if what their Messiah wants is bad for America, then he wants the Messiah to fail.

Since everything the Messiah wants is bad for America, I want the Messiah to fail.

If you don't want your Messiah to fail, you want America to fail.

You know, despite the predilections of posters to this thread, there ARE radio talk shows and stations that don't focus on politics. Most of them have online streaming. If you'd like to know about a few stations, let me know.

One non-political radio show I enjoy tuning into is Coast-to-Coast, which comes on late at night. I put it on while I'm laying in bed to sleep or to listen to while I'm playing video games. It is HIGHLY entertaining, especially if you're into conspiracy theories.

Coast-to-Coast AM is teh shiznit!! I only believe about 30% of what I hear on it, but damn if the rest isn't entertaining! I used to listen to that on my drive in to work when I had a third-shift gig.

My one complaint is that they make you pay to podcast it.

I believe about 10% of that show. Too unbelievable if you ask me.

The one thing that stands out in my mind when I was listening to it is that Noory was way out in front of everyone else on Colony Collapse Disorder.

As for the rest, I treat it like sci-fi radio.

If I were a liberal I would most likely hate him. A lot of people miss the subtle sarcasm and the intional tweaking he does. Often when a female caller gets on he asks them their name and he says "You know "______" is one of my top ten female names". I have heard him say that about at least a hundred different names. Also, when he calls feminists "feminazis" or he calls news women "info-babes" a lot of people get all bent out of shape and think it's sexist.

Not only do they not get the joke, but they don't get that the joke is on them. He tweaks liberals like that all the time. The people that get offended by it are exactly the kind of people he wants to offend and the rest of us are laughing at the joke and the people that are all sandy crotched about it.

If you dislike Rush Limbaugh because you have listened and just don't like the show, fine, but if you don't like Rush because of something someone else said or wrote, you might be missing out on something you would really enjoy. He doesn't just talk. His parodies are hilarious. Radio is still free. Give it a chance.
Yeah, I caught Rush as I was part way through my transition from Commi-Lib to Conservative.

To the Libs out there... show your tolerance and that you are open minded.
Listen for a few weeks. What's it going to cost you? Nada.
What it will do is challenge your beliefs.

Rush does a great job explaining the right wing viewpoint.

You might have to eat crow now and again as he makes fun of Libs, but man up... Conservatives have to listen to Obi virtually everyday (except when there is a real crisis) and have to digest heaps of Obi's verbal diarrhea.
