And what do you expect from a bunch of people who attend WWE? Of course they are going to be screaming USA. Thier rednecks.

Don't be badmouthing the WWE. Not all of us are rednecks. Well, I am, but not all of us.

Dude, dont you think I am familar with European propaganda as well? I will tell you something, I certainly am. American propaganda is mindnumbing, European propaganda is just annoying(and doesnt dominate society like in the US).

Well that isn't always true. I understand what you mean, I think its five corporations control 95% of the market, tv, newspaper, magazines, movies, etc. But those corporations are global. So it isn't just a phenomenon here in the US. Everything in the world is about dominating your mind. I can assure you though if the US felled from being a superpower to a nation like France, our media would turn to just being annoying instead of more annoying.

Maybe we are being brainwashed with the fact that we are being brainwashed.

Duh. Obviously. Did you see the last election circus? All smoke and mirrors.

Everyone's brainwashed. That's what ideology is.

I disagree. I think some people arrive at an ideology by looking at all points of view and choosing the one that makes the most sense. Such ideology is a product of education, logic, reason, and experience.

Ideology that cannot be articulated, explained, or defended by any criteria other than emotion, vague platitudes, and/or hatefulness directed at others is almost always a result of brainwashing however.

That's not what ideology is. Ideology isn't something that's rationally chosen, it's something that's naturally developed as a result of the environment in which one lives and develops. And as for what is rational, you and I would disagree on what that means because of our different personal experiences that have formed our respective world views.

Again I disagree. I have a personal ideology developed from education, environment, experience, logic, and reason, and I am loosely part of a larger group who has arrived at similar conclusions/ideology through much of the same means.

The ideology you describe fits into No. 3 on the list of definitions and does define the brainwashed of whom you speak, but it certainly is not the case with all ideology.

Ideology
n
1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) a body of ideas that reflects the beliefs and interests of a nation, political system, etc. and underlies political action

2. (Philosophy) Philosophy Sociol the set of beliefs by which a group or society orders reality so as to render it intelligible

3. speculation that is imaginary or visionary

4. (Philosophy) the study of the nature and origin of ideas
ideology - definition of ideology by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Come one. No need to see a ****ty video to answer a resounding YES to your question. Americans are blocked from seeing the reality. And another reality is made just for them.

NAZI Germany did the same.

Not the NaZis!!. Ohhh NOOees!!!!!111

Owlie took care of the "ideology" point. As for "rational," that's simply "done with reason." What you may disagree on is the goal toward which you apply rationality. Two conflicting ideas can both be perfectly rational, but simply geared toward different ends.

Liberal Americans are certainly brainwashed.

.....and you proved this by posting a clearly partisan comment from the right. ;)

It's not partisan. It is factual. Liberals are overwhelmingly brainwashed. And the sad thing is that all it takes is for a teleprompter-reading hack like Obama to assiduously say the words "hope" and "change" in order to do it.

Well, having spent half my life on both sides of the pond... I can tell you Europeans have little in the way of vibrant political discussion. (I mean Europe, not The Island).

Go from one network to the next and you get the same goop pouring out of the pipe. There is no talk radio, there is no FOXNEWS, there is no vibrant right wing, and their schools are even worse hotbeds for breeding socialism.

I have great fun discussing politics with these hollow heads, as they are stunned when you rebut them... they're so used to reinforcing each other with the crap they've heard on TV, radio, or read in the rags.

I think a more balanced and less polarized society is a positive thing.

.

You mean the extremists like FoxNews or the right wing in the US or the people in Europe who share in general the same ideas?

The video could have been a lot better without the amount of "old" conspiracy in it. And what do you expect from a bunch of people who attend WWE? Of course they are going to be screaming USA. Thier rednecks.

Wait. What is WWE? And my neck is only slightly pink... what does that mean? ;)

Edit to add: I don't Americans have the market cornered on brainwashed.. I do believe that people in general are stupid.

How do you rationally follow that first sentence here with the second one? With one or two exceptions in which a rightwinger was really over the top on a panel or in an interview on Fox News, the only extremists I have observed there were on the left side of the equation.

Folks, Maximus has done us a marvelous favor by providing, in a couple of paragraphs, a very good example of the narrow Euro mentality.

I think a more balanced and less polarized society is a positive thing.
Nothing like a bunch of lemmings. It's the symbolic bird for the EU. Only the left and hard left allowed.

You mean the extremists like FoxNews or the right wing in the US or the people in Europe who share in general the same ideas?
What is extreme about FOXNEWS? It is extreme because it challenges Socialists? Well damn, we can't have any of that... can we now.

FOXNEWS, the number 1 rated cable news network by a wide margin in the US. Given the choice... people tune in. Why? because they provide balanced coverage.

Europe lacks a FOXNEWS... instead there is a monotony of lemming-like coverage for the lemming-like public. Narrow minded, narrowly focused... propaganda.

As Maximus duly notes with his "more balanced, less polarized" statement, the people are ill equipped to debate because the news networks are not in the business of providing new, but propagandizing.

What's wrong with that? People should be taught to be proud of their country, america is not the only country that does that, you'll find most countries do

And it's factual that Conservative believe that their opinions are facts. And the sad thing is that all it takes is a pitbull with lipstick and a crying TelePrompTer-reading hack like Beck to tell them what to do.

No, it is liberals who think their opinions are facts, just because they say them. Case in point: your president.

As for Glenn Beck, I am a conservative, and I don't like, or watch, him. Nice try, though.
