Global Warming Vs. Abortion - True or False

We have more evidence for life at conception than for man made global warming.

My reaction? You mean discussing the topic which YOU created?

If you don't want people to actually discuss the topic and are only looking for a true/false vote, then don't come to a debate website. There are plenty of other websites where you can create an internet poll.

:doh

You actually call this kind of banter "discussing?"

Where is the civility?

I don't see it.

A organism is created by the merging of two other organisms at conception. That newly formed organism eventually drastically evolves until it is what we consider a human being.

The question is. When is this organism considered Human and not just the possibility of becoming Human?

Gibberish,.. dude... read the poll.

If you believe there is more science to support man made global warming,... than what you just stated regarding conception,... "vote false"

It's not rocket surgery.

I was responding to Jerry's post, hence why I quoted him.

This isn't all about you and your poll.

I don't need the reference since I already know it has multiple meanings. I'm trying to pin him down of how he defines it and have been doing so for two threads now.

His precise definition is required in order to respond appropriately to him.

It's not what this thread is about, Crus,...

And any further attempts to derail the thread will be reported for abuse.

I see,..

Can you show me where it is in the forum rules, that I can't respond to your responses,... when they weren't directed at me?

Why would I need to do that? I never said you couldn't respond...

Are we on Punk'd? Where is Ashton?

See?

That's a great response.

And seeing as you don't know,..

Where do you go from there?

Trash the thread and ruin it for everyone else?

Start learning a little bit more about the evidence for each?

Watch quietly and see what others have to say?

What?

I don't need to learn about the evidence for either topic, because that wasn't the question you asked. You asked which one has more evidence. How does anyone here know the answer to that. Is their an official website somewhere that says that "life at conception" has X number of scientific studies to back it up and that "man-made global warming" has Y amount of scientific studies to back it up?

See? I have no idea which one of the two has more studies to back up its findings. Do you?

Nope.

Nor do I know (with absolute certainty) the answers to any of the other polls in this forum.

Reference; Polls

But, it came to me fairly easily that these are "opinion" polls.

Are you suggesting now,... that they are not?

Yes it is. Precise definitions to terms with multiple meanings are required in order to discuss them.

Remember, you're the one who opened this thread with this statement:

We have more evidence for life at conception than for man made global warming.

The only thing even remotely uncivil I said was when I called your bait thread a bait thread...and that's pretty tame. If you aren't interested in actually discussing the topic, why did you create the thread? This is a debate website.

When placed in that context, my answer is false, since I've read more articles that backed up man-made global warming than I have about the ambiguous phrase "life at conception".

You leave no doubt that you are less interested in a discussion than you are in ridicule, disruption and chaos.

If I think there is abuse,...

I'll report and if the mods agree,.. the posts will disappear.

Well, there you have it,... vote when you are confident enough in your "opinions" to do so.

So far you've done nothing but whine. You haven't even discussed your own topic. That makes you a troll, nothing more.

There's only human dna involved, so it's always human.

His precise definition is required in order to respond appropriately to him.

Individuals do not get to subjectively define things. Words already have established definitions, so if you're seeking out a subjective definition, your argument is folly from the start because neither one of you are basing what you say on objective fact. You are each going to assert only opinion.

Short and sweet.

"There is more evidence to support the claim that a human individual's life begins at conception,... than there is to support claim that 'man' is causing global warming."

True or False?
'
False. Life at conception is a spiritual argument and therefore cannot be "proven". From a biological perspective (which is the only one which matters in law), a fetus/embryo is not a human so it is fact that human life does not begin at conception.

It is also fact that man-made global warming exists to a certain degree, as has been established by science. So the discussion is now moot (if it had any point to begin with other than a strawman).

There's only human dna involved, so it's always human.

But, the million dollar question is: is it constitutionally protected human life?

And the answer to that is: no, not until it's viable.

And this one has three. So it's important to know which of the three meanings he's referring to when he says that life begins at conception.

Its rather obvious that human life begins at conception, and I think the intelligent abortion rights people accept this(deep down).
There is also evidence of global warming; again, a matter of intellect.
The two, of course cannot be compared in any way.
No vote.

Thanks Jerry,.. but seriously,... You can tell when someone is sincere in their questions and when they are not.

Can't you?

When someone is genuinely perplexed, they don't normally come out swining, calling names and trashing the thread.

Were the shoes to be on the other foot,... if I really didn't have an answer to the poll question,.. and if I really wanted more info... I might ask something like,...

"That's an odd poll question, Chuz.... can you tell me what made you think of asking it?"

I can, and I can tell that this thread wasn't a sincere question. ;)

Or you might just evade people (like me) who give direct answers to your questions, just because my answers debunk your assertions. :2wave:

It's not a comparison,... but thanks.

The poll question basically comes down to "which is most supported (in your opinion) by scientific facts?" Life begins at conception or Global Warming?
