The Poll question is just the beginning, I would like everyone to explain in depth their answers, properly citing sources in APA format, double spaced, Time New Roman 12 Font, to be on my desk by Christmas Eve.
 
When I lived in North Carolina I wrote to Sen. Burr at least once a month regarding multiple issues such as Foreign Policy, Veterans Affairs, Gun Control, Abortion, and Lowering the Age Requirement for President.(This is partly because a certain other State Senator who will not be named at this time wouldn't even respond with cookie cutter letters.)

Anyways, I would occasionally get cookie cutter letters, the "Thank you for your interest, blah blah, your concerns have been noted, thank you for contacting me, etc. etc. and the rubber stamp signature."

I did get a few actual letter written back, one signed by Burr and not the same cookie cutter letter, but what most intrigued me was when I got a call from one of his aides regarding a constitutional amendment to lower the required age to become President. Apparently he thought that to be a good enough idea to warrant a phone call from his no doubt busy assistant.

Having moved to NH though, I have yet to strike up any lines of communication with Washington, and though Concord is 20 minutes away I think it may be harder still to get in on the State government. :lol:
 
My congressman and senators don't like me writing to them. :(
 
I prefer to visit my MP's monthly surgery.
 
I contact my senators/representative only very rarely, when I feel that something important enough to warrant it is on the table.
 
I don't contact anyone because they are going to do what they need to do to get re-elected. My one vote doesn't mean ****.
 
All of my reps are bleeding heart Libtards, so it wouldn't do any good....:(

I write to my congresscritter occasionally if there is an issue of concern to me. I like him, actually. Our community is small enough that I've shared a plane with him several times and had a chance to chat with him face to face.

I do not communicate with these people in any way. One of my state Senators is a pure douchebag who was appointed by a corrupt governor and has had ties to corrupt officials throughout his

career (Bell, 2009). The other is definitely a Dick (Burnett, 2006). There is a good chance that my congresswoman is also corrupt (Robinson, 2004). By interacting with these dregs of society, I fear

i do indeed write my reps at least once every two to three months
 
Since I only really got into politics last year, I have written to my Senators only once. Both are moderate Democrats, so I recently wrote to both of them telling them to vote against the health care bill, which of course they both ended up voting for along with all the other Senate Democrats. I'll probably only write again if something really big comes up.

I haven't written a word to my representative, nor will I. He's a douche who wouldn't give a crap about what I think.

Well depending on where you live, your Representative might represent less people than your Senator does...might be easier to get through to them.

Unless the state is so small that it has only one Congressional district, all representatives represent less people than Senators. My representative wouldn't give a crap what I think though, since he's so corrupt and since his re-election is almost guaranteed as long as he runs. Also, my Senators are more moderate and prone to break with their party, whereas my representative can pretty much be counted on to always take the most liberal position.

Then get active. :D You can do it, CHANGE YOUR STATE! Or ****, join someone's campaign or run for yourself. Just don't use Gengar as your political symbol. ;)
