If a human is granted rights at conception then why should people who get raped be able to violate the life of the fetus? Same with incest.

Can you clear this up for me?

I'd love to...

But we have to first dispell of the notion that basic (human) rights are 'granted.'

If i debate on the basis that they are inherent,... and you debate on the basis that they are granted,... we are not going to get anywhere.

The constitution protects people who've been born and we can see. Not goo in petri dishes.
How would you feel about the possibility of being aborted?

I don't see how that is relevant but OK.

Please explain how rights are inherent and what that even means.

Rights are granted by the society lived in. Without a society there are no rights.

Of course my own rights are not inherent. It's not even remotely possible for them to be inherent. If I lived in a different country, I would have different rights. If I lived outside the borders of any country at all, I would have different rights - the ones I EARN.

So again, just because someone writes 'endowed by a creator', it must be true? There is no 'creator' to 'endow' anything of the sort. And if there were, then we wouldn't be arguing over them and changing them all the time since they'd be 'inherent' and there'd be no argument about them.

We have already been through a discussion on how your claim about inherent rights has no basis. You didn't respond in any valid way except an argument to authority (claiming The founders said we have rights so they must be inherent) and then claiming a God somehow makes rights inherent. You then failed to respond to the rebuttals in the thread.

Even by another pro-life person who agrees with pro-choice people that rights are merely a philosophical construct. The best you could do then was hand wave it away by claiming its an opinion.http://www.debatepolitics.com/polls...ically-begin-conception-9.html#post1058437115

The ball is still in your court Chuz.

If basic human rights were inherent then no one would be able to break those rights. IE no one would kill or be stolen from or raped or abused etc etc etc etc.

You would also have to explain why is it that different countries have a different amount of rights than others.

Here, this guy should explain it quite well to ya...

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWiBt-pqp0E"]YouTube- YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS - George Carlin[/ame]

PS: Why are all youtube videos double posting lately?

George Carlin was a jackass.

Even jackass's have valid points. Could you deny anything that he said in that video?

I can deny everything he says in the video,... just as you deny an individual life begins at and by conception.

The ability to be denied doesn't prove anything.

Then deny it. Prove that what he says is wrong. If you wish we could make a whole new thread just for it so this one doesn't get derailed.

That would be great,... Though, For other reasons,.... I'm not sure I will be around much longer.
