I gave him a C, but C- would be more accurate. He's no worse than Bush, maybe better not sure.

    Re: Grade Obama so far!

I gave him a C, mostly because I'm hoping he'll improve. But since I voted against McCain and not really for Obama, I guess there wasn't much I was really expecting out of him.

    Iraq/Afghanistan: D
He ran on getting our troops the hell out of Iraq, that didn't include just moving them all into Afghanistan. We need to get the hell out of the Middle East, we cannot force these people to adopt a democracy if they don't want one and clearly, none of them do. As soon as we leave, they're going to go right back to a dictatorship with heavy religious overtones, we're just wasting time and money that we don't have to waste right now.

    National Security: C
Related to the wars, he's still pissing people off, just like Bush did. It's time to let other countries do whatever they want to do, we are not saviors to the planet.

    Foreign Relations: B
I think he's doing better here, mostly because he'd be hard pressed to do worse than Bush. Still not great, but at least he isn't threatening to invade people.

    Domestic Policy: C
I don't think he's done a damn thing for the economy, he's just stopped it from hemorraghing as badly as it was before. A recovery with no new jobs is not a recovery at all. It's like saying you're getting better because you're not bleeding as badly from the knife-wound in your gut as you used to be. Again, this is a problem because Obama, like Bush before him, just wants to put us back on the track to fiscal irresponsibility. They don't want to fix the problem, which is living beyond our means, they want to patch it up so we can go back to living the good life, buying a new SUV every year and a new big screen plasma TV for Christmas. Our entire economic system is unsustainable, but Obama doesn't want to actually fix it, he wants to get back to the high life.

    Immigration: Potential F
Only because he hasn't had time to do anything about it, but the writing is on the wall for another mass amnesty of crimnial illegal aliens. We need to crack down on illegals and reform our immigration process so that the right people get in faster and easier, but the wrong people (including people who show no respect for our most basic of laws) are kept out permanently.

    Healthcare: F
He's just wasting more time and money on the whole healthcare reform until he grows some balls and actaully attacks the core of the problem: the insurance industry and the lawyers. But of course, neither he nor Congress will ever do that, those are two groups that give tons of money to their re-election campaigns. Any attempt to fix healthcare while ignoring those two issues is doomed to failure.

    Supreme Court: B
I don't really mind Sotomayor, in fact one of the reasons I voted against McCain was to keep him from tipping the SCOTUS any more conservative. We need a balanced court, one that is not too conservative nor too liberal. I'd really rather see the court nominations process entirely out of the President's hands.

We have enormous expectations of President Obama.
I'd have been happy had Bush snoozed all the way through his presidency. I have no more expectations from Obama than I did for Bush and frankly, I don't think Obama is capable of fulfilling any expectations. He went in as the savior, he's showing that he's just some guy with big talk and no results.

In just about everything he's taken action, he's screwed it up so far. Time for him to stop trying and go take a nap.

    Gay, straight, polygamous...whatever.

Just don't expect the government to validate your lifestyle by institutionalizing it.
Currently, people are not allowed to enter into the same sort of civil contract that heterosexuals can, many states forbid it outright. Besides, no matter how much you libertarians might dislike the idea of state-sanctioned marriage, it currently exists and is not functionally capable of being abolished, hence like it or not, it's going to stick around. As our Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law, and legal marriage is legal, it cannot be restricted legally by sexual preference.

    Re: Grade Obama so far!

Since he's only been in officer for a short time, I'll give him a C (overall).

To be more specific, this is how I would grade him so far:

Economy: C - Again, only time will tell, but at the moment I think he could be cutting spending in some areas.

Foreign Policy: F - He broke his promise not to send more troops, and he's continuing down the road of Bush's foreign policy.

Health Care: D - I know Congress is mostly taking the lead on this, but both Obama and the Democrats need to show some leadership. The health care bill has been watered down. Major reform needs to be done.

Social Issues: A - Since we are focused on fixing the economy and reforming health care, I don't expect him to do much in this area for now.. But so far he has decided not to prosecute Medical Cannabis patients. That is enough for me right now. After the serious issues are dealt with, I'm hoping he will end "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

Like I said.. It's a little too early, but next year I will say more.

    Re: Grade Obama so far!

**** I Voted Against (not FOR McCain/Palin) because I knew that there was more unknown about him than known - and THAT is exceedinly dangerous - ALSO Israel with 400+ Nukes does not trust him AND his very private views on US & World History if known would cause many to reconsider.

**** He's had 30 + years of White Liberals deferring to him and easing his path He's quite used to it and expects it and the MAIN reason this Health Care monstrosity might now well pass in some form (later to be piled onto) is because of his personna - not it's necessity or meriots.

Actually it did. Adding more troops to Afghanistan was part of his campaign from the beginning.

He never promised that. In fact, he promised the opposite.
