He found out a ton of classified information once he took office.
He never was a dove in the first place, but wanted to contrast with hawkish McCain for the election.
He isn't really making the decisions.
He was influenced by his advisors
He's merely continuing the foreign policies of the previous administration as is traditional.
I can't figure it out, I thought he wanted peace!
He is in completely over his head.
Other please explain!
I don't think you can say "Suddenly" hawkish. This was one of the things he campaigned on. I'm personally not happy with his plans, but I'm not surprised it was to be expected.
Women are going to be the reason that Donald Trump is NEVER President!
Aaaaaand here comes MyOwnDrum again with one of his trademark stupid polls. There is no "now", Obama campaigned on sending more troops to Afghanistan and made a speech in March affirming that he would do just that. The fact that he almost didn't decide on a surge, and that he took 3 months to make up his mind, speaks more about him than the choice he ultimately made.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
Cicero Marcus Tullius
