...and they all migrated from further East, hence the name "Caucasian", I think.

I heard somewhere that Caucasian wasn't in regards to the Caucasus Mountains...but I don't remember where. I still think it was the mountains.

as far as wiki goes (which isn't always much)

Epic, GET THE **** OFF OF MY THREAD! You asked if anyone was offended by your portrayal of the Reichskriegsflagge. The answer is yes, I was. I am ethnically, culturally, and by blood and citizenship a German. The Schwarz-Rot-Gold hangs in every corner of my room. Your talk of "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" deeply offends me. People like you are nothing but dirt who are a disgrace to the Fatherland. Embrace "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit." That is Germany.

Lang lebe der Bundesrepublik Deutschland

The united states of America is the most powerful nation in Europe of course.

Second is probably Germany.

What is the most powerful nation in Europe? How adorable. I've got one....What is the most powerful tribe in Africa? Anyone? Anyone? But back to Europe...

Maybe German power should not be celebrated so much. We've seen what Germans are capable of when they have power....twice. We'd be fools to ever trust them completely with any real power. France? Their determination to prove themselves independant from the U.S. by any means necessary since they were bailed out in 1945 has infected the EU. Maybe this shouldn't be celebrated so much either. Ahhh, the U.K. The British Empire is historical and their military today works best with the U.S. military. They remain independant from the EU, which means that as the EU nations struggle with their united economies and their identities, the U.K. stands the greatest chance to emerge out of the struggle faster. And since they remain loyal friends to the U.S., they continue to borrow from that power.

This notion that somebody in continental Europe is the most powerful is pointless. What can they do with it? Only the U.K. has enough power to reach out and make a difference. And this very much relates to who they pass the time with. In fact, the three nations that bleed the most for each other has been Canada, the U.K., and the U.S. Not the others who have bled because of each other. A powerful France? A powerful Germany? I don't see it.

I voted Germany without even looking at the OP. I learned in history classes in my schooling that Germany has essentially the most productive and most stable economy as well, despite England's image as a powerful country by Americans.

I could be wrong though.

I would say the Ashanti tribe.

A history of the Ashanti tribe in Africa - by Lian Slayford - Helium

"Prior to their defeat at the hands of the British, the Ashanti (who are a matrilineal society) developed into one of the most powerful African kingdoms."

Facts are nice, but then you factor in the human aspect, and Germany emerges on top. Not to mention quality of forces...

How ironic is it that France spends more than UK and Germany on arms?

What do they use them for? Eating utensils?

As sales to anybody with a heart beat. France (and Germany) have always had a love affair for the safe and comfortable dictators. As one of the big three weapons suppliers (China and the Soviet Union being the other two), Saddam Hussein fought Iranians for years with French hardware. France (along with Germany) still seek Chinese bed mates. France has made it a mission to saturate Africa. According to a recent study, France is Africa’s leading weapons supplier.

France24 - Increasing arms sales ? but at what cost?

The world’s top arms exporters are..

1) The U.S.
2) The U.K.
3) Russia
4) France
5) Israel

Out of these four, only France and Russia have no "rhyme or reason" to their exportation. France has been in a hurry to double and triple their arms exportation over the last decade. They've been trying to regain past glory and global power ever since the Swastika kicked them out of Paris. Old habits die hard.

This somehow reminded me of that Family Guy scene where Brain and Stewie were taking a tour of Germany.

Switzerland, they have developed the intercontinental ballistic yodel.

the snail is a formidable opponent, they have their own bomb shelter.

Well that only says that one shouldn't eat snails. Seriously, that's gross.

people eat snails:shock: is it any wonder that as the snail slithered along its evolutionary pathway, it developed its own mobile bomb shelter, I have a pet snail called Brian, 40yrs ago I threw a stick for Brian to fetch, he will be back soon.

To be serious :shock:France it has its own independant nuclear weapons, it also has for decades posessed independant biological armaments Tripe a la mode de Caen and Pont L'Eveque

Its really all about the balance of power, in europe. There are a lot of countries and each are powerful in their own right. I think its at a point that, in a war, no one would win and both sides would lose.

No one could invade GB. Hitler tried it, he failed, and he had Vichy France and most of Europe under his control. The last time anyone ever successfully invaded England was in the battle of Hastings almost a thousand years ago.

Germany could easily kill France though, although it would hurt them too because France is growing fast economically since they have become more pro-business.

No one could invade Switzerland, way too mountainous and they hold the world's money.

Poland was fall to anyone, always.

Basically, it would be like WW1 or WW2, Germany is the only nation with both an adequate military and an excellent economy; however, everyone would destroy them if they ever decided to invade another country.

In the context of a hegemony, I agree with you. No Europerean Nation will be able to establish a hegemony over the others in our lifetime. But in relation to which country is strongest, from your analysis, it seems to be Germany, correct?

After the US, France possesses the most advanced military technology and military industry. Ahead of the UK and possibly Israel and Russia/China.

Americans want to believe it is Great Britain, but most Europeans and geopolitical analysts say it is Germany. What do you think?

Rather clearly it is Russia.
