Agree completely. Adjusting it's parameters is what congress should do every 6 years or so. Personally I'd love to see a means test. Kinda silly for Bill Gates to get the same check as my granda.

I'll take that over nothing. However, I don't see how this is the government's place. People should be able to save themselves. Privatizing the ponzi scheme will probably allow the seniors to get more money.

However, yes, some people do need government help, like some of the disabled. I just guess, I'd be more discriminating when it comes to who is "needy"

I don't see an opinion in the OP, do you?
Welfare (Food Stamps, WIC, etc...) are not entitlements. They are taxpayer funded handouts and shouldn't be called entitlements at all. Social Security and Veteran's benefits are 'Entitlements' because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients.

If this were a legit poll, it would have included both Roosevelt's, Wilson, Truman, Kennedy and Clinton and not had laughable options such as Harding or Coolidge.
